So while I was once again debating getting some Mean Endomags to use in my 9mm AR with a plain magwell, I noticed they now sell a ready to go solution called the Exomag. No more gutting Pmags and stuffing new guts in, and cost the same as the Endomag but no Pmag to buy. Also they come in various sizes from 10 to 40 rounds.

I've got a 40rder on the way, should ship by early Jan. I'll post a review once I try it. I much prefer the look of an AR size mag in a standard magwell to a Glock magwell.

Don't get your thing caught in it! Don't like the looks!
I'd prefer a solid body too, but the 42rd version is cheaper than the old 30rd Endomag guts plus a $10 pmag and I can't find $10 pmags any more lol

Shipping is now supposed to be by the end of January. Hopefully it's not going to be one of *those* product releases.

Also I wonder if I could 3d print some bits to fill in the holes.....

I went with the Colt (see modified UZI) magazine setup and didn't worry about the Glock style magazines.
I like the function of Glock mags but it just looks goofy. I almost went Uzi mags but my various uppers would need trimming and I didn't feel like it.

interesting, haven't gone the "Glock" lower route or adapter... prefer the Colt mag 9mm lowers, ASC 32rd mags. Maybe one day I'll try it.

I have been tempted by Colt mag lowers, but the variable upper compatibility makes me wary. They definitely look way better.

I agree, I use Macon Armory barrels, Rudy is a stand up guy, have a clone Colt AR9 upper and Colt one. Run Toolcraft BCG v2, Rudy's dead blow buffer. No issues
There's some 80% Colt mag lowers laying around ...one day may finish them..(😆)

Got an email from Mean today. Blah blah blah we love you, but we aren't even close to ready to ship because we promised a date that required everything to be perfect. And it's not even a production issue, they're still messing around with the tooling.

Shocking.

This is far too common now a days. Over promise under deliver. And the kicker is they don't even care

I mean I absolutely expected it, but they didn't even say anything until nearly three weeks after it was supposed to have shipped (mid January) . I figured it would be by end of January at least but this is annoying.

Update. Apparently it's still blah blah blah but they're doubling orders made before March 1st which is nice. Assuming it ever ships lol

Dear Valued MEAN Arms customers,

NOTE: Resending this e-mail as some people didn't receive the e-mails
ent a few days ago.

We appreciate your support as we finalize the release of our Exomag line of products. Unfortunately; when you invent and then design products that have never been made previously, unforeseen issues come up as you near the finish line. We showed the world our printed fully functional test versions at SHOT show and the response was overwhelming. As we have moved to mass produce the Exomags, in different sizes, we are adjusting the mold shrink to match the printed models which performed flawlessly. The mold changes are almost finished.

We are expeditiously moving towards a release date while making absolutely sure that the Exomag functionality is flawless. In the interest of providing the same superior level of customer service all MEAN Arms customers have grown to expect, we are going to double your order on all existing pre-orders placed prior to 03/01/2024. Again, we apologize, and we are working every day on this project to get them in your hands as quickly as possible.

We will continue to update as the final stages of release arrives.

Again we want to THANK YOU for your continued trust in MEAN
.
