Went to a DU Banquet and managed to win a beretta A400 20g explor du edition. Man that thing is sweet. I had multiple offers to buy it before I ever even made it to the table to give them my name. Haha question is do I keep it or sell it. I’ve never won a thing in my life and I’m still pumped over it. I’ve got several other shotguns that I may turn loose just to make room for the new one. What’s your opinion’s on this gun? I know it’s gas not inertia and all the little details but I haven’t even went to pick it up yet. Do you have one? Do you like it? Would you have went a different route? Where’s the SBE3 guys at?

I have a a400 extreme in 12ga. and I absolutely love it. Went back and forth for awhile trying to decide between it or the SBE3 and I definitely made the right choice. My buddy bought the benelli so I’ve got to shoot them back to back May times and the beretta is a much softer shooter and just feels nicer in every way.

Gas guns are extremely reliable and at least in the case of the Beretta, you don’t need to clean them as often as people make it seem. I’m on a mission to shoot it to failure before I ever clean it and doesn’t look like that’s going to happen any time soon.

I have field and target 12ga A400; great guns.

If you want a 12 trade in/swap etc.

I prefer inertia for field use but the new gas systems are really nice.

That 20 is ideal upland / small game gun but 12 has an edge for waterfowl.

I have an a400 explorer in 12 gauge and love it. Only had one issue with it and that wasn’t the guns fault. This past duck season it froze up on me. From what we could tell moisture froze from either going from a warm car to 6 degree outside temps or it got some condensation build up from shooting in the freezing temps that let some ice build up and slow the action. After I knocked some ice out of the receiver it was fine, and temps getting up in the teens may have helped.

I bought a 12g stoeger M3000 off another member here a while back. I paired it with a Carlson choke, Absolutely love the gun and it’s done it’s fair share of knocking down some ducks, geese and even a tundra swan. And I plan to continue using it. This 20g though I’ve never owned a gun this nice. My first thoughts were was that it’s gonna have to be a safe queen. But with what I can tell from you guys I’m gonna have to keep it and put it to work.

Great gun. A lot of duck hunters are shooting 20ga due to advancement in ammo. Shoot it and see how you like it. If you don’t post it up for sale on here
