Anyone own a Tracker fishing boat? If so, any pros or cons about them?

I have read and seen a lot of bad in them.
Most are under powered. Kind of slapped together low quality fit and finish. Nice looking boat at 50 feet.

But all boats have their problems. I would buy them before I did a Lowe.

I own two SeaArk boats and very happy with them.

I grew up about 30 minutes from the factories. Have plenty of friends still working there. Tracker is tracker. It is what it is. From the internal knowledge, I'd buy a Lowe before a tracker all day.

I had a tracker grizzly 1860. I loved it. Wish I still had it

I own a 20ft Express, I would look at G3 also.

but no experience with Tracker. My buddy has one and the dealership kept it longer than he did for the 1st 3 or 4 months due to a motor issue.

@Mirac just got a new tracker I believe.

I bought an Xpress with a 200 HP Yamaha about 20 years ago. It’s all still solid as a rock and running perfectly up at my brother’s place in NY. Solid option.

They are made with a price point in mind.
I had a 2004 proteam 190 bought new and can really see a difference in the built fit and finish with this new2024 .

I don’t think I’d have a need to upgrade, unless I won the lottery.

If you are close you can come by and check mine out . Or hit the bass pro. Good value for the money. My opinion.

Motor issue isn’t a Tracker Boat issue. That’s a Mercury issue.

That looks like more than I need. I have a 22' bowrider on Lake Norman but its in dry storage without a trailer.

I'd like to just have a 16-17' model that is essentially portable and Tuckertown or Lake Tillery would be my two main spots to use it.

I have a brother in Lexington; next time I see him I'll reach out.

@concepthomes2 they just came out with their original tracker.
I don’t think you could do wrong for what it is. I mean how many older ones are out there? .. tons.
What fishing you doing?
Bass, catfish, Striper , crappie ?

That's a nice little boat. If we hadn't wanted/needed a pontoon for entertaining friends & fam, I'da gone for either that Classic XL or the equivalent deep-V model for myself.

I don't know how the newer ones are made, but the older ones used pretty cheap plywood for the decking and stuff. After the wood rots you can fix it up with better stuff. Personally I like a totally aluminum boat, decking and everything. I have an Express CC18.

I have a 2072 cc tracker with a 150 mercury, no it’s not a bass boat but still a tracker. I will say the boat is perfect for what I do (catfish & striper fish) and runs great and smooth riding boat UNTIL you get WOT… the boat on flat water will run 45mph easy and it’s great. Now if there’s chop on the water plan on getting wet. Water will splash all into hull and get you and your crew soaked. Don’t comment and say that’s a flat bottom boat for ya. I’ve ran havocs, express, wareagles, tritons. Etc. All of them handle great. I’ve tried shifting weight around on this boat adding setback jackplate different props. I’ve come to conclusion I’ll take my time (25mph) around the lake. Not a huge decision maker as a fisherman that doesn’t fish tournaments ( no need for speed) but knowing this I would have been more patient and looked at other boats. Not sure if their bass boats are like this but just my .02…

I can get the 195 up to 58mph. Just below the chine walk
And the hull just the back 3-4 feet are touching water and the spray is way behind you in the cockpit. I could prop up just a bit and get more top end speed , but for the tournaments I’ll fish. I don’t need it.
And it runs out real good right now

Didn't jump in to begin with. I've got an 80's something tracker. I really liked it, until the plywood deck started rotting. But that was mostly my fault, had to leave it outside, got leaves, pine straw and other water holding stuff in it. A couple of years ago, (so the plywood lasted a long time) I finally ripped up the plywood and put aluminum decking back, glued in carpet, changed a couple of hatches, personalized it. It's an aluminum boat, so everything underneath was in great shape. Foam still looked good, no real surprises when I got inside. I REALLY like it now.

That is what I like best from some of the other offerings out there.
My 2072 SeaArk VFX runs great at all speeds and is a dry running boat for its design
The 15 deg V if I recall is really nice handling plus the v and design on the front make it cut really nice and stays dry.
