Chainsaws - let’s see em.

I’ve got an old Stihl 026 that I bought in 1990 or so. I used it very little then let it sit. I took it to a repair shop in Greensboro a year ago and they went through it and replaced everything needed. Now they don’t make parts for it still so they had to find oem parts that would work. Had to replace carb with larger and fuel tank for some reason. Also replaced other stuff. The techs there had fun building it. It is a smallish saw with tons of torque. I paid them $225 I think. Salesman told me to replace it with something comparable would be $700. He said I could always get my money back. They were surprised when they tore it apart that the cylinders and internals looked brand new. Of course they do since I probably have less than 25 hours on it. Probably not even that many. I live in a neighborhood where I have two trees on my property. One real small tree and one medium tree. So I have no need for it but hey you never know. I now take it out every month or so and let it run along with my little generator. They say it cuts real good without bogging down but I don’t know. I should take it to a friends place but then I’d get put to work. IMG_0468.jpeg

Another estate sale pick-up, $8. At the sale I pulled the rope just to make sure it had compression. Got it home, gave the carb a squirt of fuel and it fired up after a few pulls. So far will only run on the fuel you squirt in the carb. I haven't spent any time trying to diagnose it but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out.
