Lvp flooring shopping tomorrow…

I’m far from an expert but Shaw is arguably the industry leader. I bought Lowe’s second from the top LVP for my laundry room 4-5yr ago, it’s made by Shaw, has a very thick protective layer, doesn’t require a separate underpayment/pad, and was very easy to install.

The company I work for has a flooring division. Most of the product we sell is Shaw. I'm not involved in that part of the business, but I can say we deal with high end custom home builders and that's what they're buying.

I installed about 800 sqft of the lifeproof 22mil that has pad on it from hd about 8mths ago and have been very pleased with it how its held and looks so far. Many times I thought the kids would have scratched it but it hasn't shown any signs so far. We were going with one from lowes and the sample scratched pretty easy so I got a little hesitant of it. When we were looking and researching someone recommended taking a metal spoon to a sample and scraping it back and forth to see how one would hold up and would give you an indication how it would withstand abuse. Install wasn't to bad and worst part is trimming around door jambs but not terrible. The worst part for me was I got the wild hair to pull up some old vinyl flooring that was glued down in our kitchen area before putting the new flooring back down.

All diffrent levels depending your price point.

I don’t remember the brand we got I’ll check next time I go out to the building, but what I put out there has held up great to me dropping tools and other heavy stuff on it and isn’t even scratched
