Military museum in the Azores

The cruise ship stopped at the Azores today and I found the military museum located in a fortress dating back to the 1700s. Many of the exhibits are deteriorating presumably due to lack of funding. It only cost us a euro apiece to get in.

A good number of the exhibits were themed to Portugal's African wars. It was worth more than the euro we paid!

One of my biggest regrets was not seeing the Waffenmuseum in Oberndorf while I was in Germany. Definitely something I look for now when I travel. There seems to be a lot of really neat pieces there, great experience for just a Euro!

Guards at the Hassam tomb in Rabat. They were fine with getting a picture taken, and the guard inside poked me to come closer for a better picture! The Mauser looks like a Model 24

the last picture is outside the royal palace. PVT Snuffy, who looks like his feet are killing him, appears to be armed with an FAL, as were the other guards in the area. A different government building, part of the military, had a guard with a bullpup but I couldn't make out which one.
