What have you recently purchased that is firearms related?

I just picked up a Charter Arms Pitbull 2”bbl in 9mm. Sportsman’s Warehouse, $502.89. I was looking a few years back and couldn’t find one. Looking forward to cheaper revolver time. No moon clips. Putting some dry fire time in before I head to the range.
You buy the stainless or black nitride?

I have them in 9/40/45…just don’t shoot them as much as I should. Bought them as a way to shoot the ammo I already had on the shelf.

I bought the SS / Matte finish. They didn’t have the black nitride in stock. I kinda prefer the SS on revolvers anyway. I’m hoping to feel the difference after some serious dry fire. It’s not too grainy or anything. Just feels new. My other revolvers are nice and broke in. I use my wheel guns for dry fire a lot more than my semiautos.

Simply giving me that ammo would have saved you the cost of 3 guns. 🤓

I saw this one a couple years ago and didn't buy it. I've looked for couple.months and my lgs couldn't get it. I bought it on Gunbroker, new old stock .

It's S & W MP 2.0 Compact spec series in bull shark grey. Two 23 round magazines and a 15 . 20240510_193444.jpg20240510_193508.jpg

Recently acquired one of the Garmin chronographs. Hesitated buying either the LabRadar or the Magnetospeed as they both have ther drawbacks. The Garmin has lived up to the hype...super small form factor (not much bgger than a cell phone), has been 100% for recording shots, and transfer to an excel spreadsheet has been super easy even for a Luddite like me LOL. First outing a I measured a dozen different rounds through my 223 bolt gun, gained a lot of solid info. Money well spent IMO

Picked up a polymer lower for my .22 WMR AR. No build here, this was strictly buy and put together! 🤣 I added the MFT stock, and I have different pistol grip coming in, but other than that no changes have been made to the complete BCA upper and the complete Plum Crazy lower. I have an optic picked out and I’m setting aside funds for that, but until then I’ll throw one of my older scopes on.

Finally broke down and bought some better shooter friendly grips for my naa 22mag mini revolver. Found some 3d printed grips on the ol flea bay for 19.99 a set with free shipping. Bought 2 different styles to try out. One set of green boot style grips which are alot better then the factory little wood panels. And the second set is a clear/white listed as eggplant style which really feels good in the hand. 20240515_155209.jpg20240515_155518.jpg

I also picked up a Garmin chrono. I have a close friend that works for Garmin and he got me hooked up.
One thing i have learned is to check for any updates before you head to the range with it. Kind of a pain in the ass to be in the middle of shooting and suddenly it stops working because you need to do an update (happened to me on Monday...)

Well, I did the same thing with my Labradar - I saw an update to the app and downloaded it to my phone. It had major problems, it would not let me change the chrono settings from the app. I reported the issue, and it took them a couple of months to fix the problem. I'm pretty sure the company that wrote/updates the app is contracted by Labradar. From now on, I will download the updates to my old iPad first to make sure it works.

As for Garmin, I'd be willing to bet they do their own in-house updates.

On a side note: I was told by my friend that Garmin's market forecast had severely underestimated the demand for their chrono.

I've heard about those kind of issues with the Labradar, one of the reasons I hesitated about buying one.

If anyone has ever checked the Garmin corporate website, you'll see the consumer products are basically "toys"...they make auto-pilot systems for helicopters as well as other aviation electronic systems. So yeah, I'm sure they do the software in-house.

My old range box fell apart over many years of use and abuse so I picked up this contraption at our local HF. A bit heavy and I'm not sure about all of the plastic parts but I'll give it a go. I need some stickers! It looks a bit nekkid!
