From another forum I started following a couple of threads about whiskey glassware. Now doing a little Googling and finding out that there is 2,000,000 choices to pick from. Hell even landed on the Waterford site and glasses $100+ each. I think that I got a set of water glasses that are Waterford for my wedding. I can see Barbara now if I ask her to let me and my friends drink out of them.

Out of curiosity, what are you drinking out of (mixes drinks, on the rocks and neat)?
From most of my post, as you can see I am using a plastic insulated highball cup (like a Tervis). Not sure if they are the best for drinking neat.

So I got a pair of Crown glasses free when I bought a bottle of Crown 20+ years ago. They are my go to when drinking OTR or neat. They make me feel fancy.15816297208631831912739.jpg

I have 4 Waterford crystal whiskey glasses I got from Belk for $100 for the set.
I bought them for my use so there would no issues with having to ask the ex if I could use hers when we were married.

If i had $100 Waterford crystal I'd fo sho use them. What else are they for?

Catfish, I am not worthy to use them and I sure the hell not going to replace one if I break it. Those stems on the glasses are fragile.

I bought these for me to go with a $100 bottle of scotch, I had had a good week and I deserved it/them.

Waterford came as a gift for the wedding. There were 2 of us wedded so I fail to see where they are exclusively "hers". Half of that crap is MINE and if I want to drink out of one, I will. And I'll do it without asking permission, I'm a free man and act like it!! So there.... As I raise my 100.00 Waterford full of Jack and toast your poor ass..... Grow a pair, use the expensive crystal.....

For whiskey mixed drinks or on the rocks, I use a lowball glass

When tasting a bottle I use a Glencairn

When I am drinking, the bottle works fine!

He's not wrong.... LOL.

I have a haphazard collection of lowball glasses that I drink mixed drinks (mostly Old Fashioneds) from.

When drinking neat bourbon or scotch (which is 90% of my drinking) I'll use a glencairn. A set of six from Amazon will run you about 30-35 bucks. If you don't have that many friends you can buy less :D.

I've got various kinds of lowball glasses and a set of whiskey stones for when I want to sip the hard stuff. I've got one that came with a bottle of wild turkey I bought years ago, and I use it a lot, because I like the shape.

More often than not though, I drink craft beer. I usually drink it from one of the knock-off yeti stainless steel tumblers that walmart sells.

I just use appropriate bourbon glasses. Made of decent heavy glass.

Doesn't have to be cork-sniffer spendy crystal.

You or one of your dumbass friends/relatives is going to get drunk and grenade one. This will happen faster in direct proportion to the money you spend.
100$=you'll have one left in a month, but it will be cracked.
5$=black lab tail proof. A set will last forever. Until you buy expensive ones and give them to your pathetic buddy who has nothing.
Then you can visit him and still enjoy them for years.

"Glencairn" had never heard of this. I'm such a luddite.

Must take practice to hold it with the pinky stickin out?
