Rocky’s Hot Chicken Shack in Asheville.

Their fried chicken and pimento cheese BLT is hands down the best damn chicken sandwich on the planet.

I’m a little disappointed in @Tim for sitting on this gem every time Popeyes has been mentioned.

Asheville has an awesome little BBQ place down in a place that looks like it should be a homeless encampment. For cheap BBQ it was pretty dang good. I'll have to find rocky's the next time I'm up that way.

Dude I wish that was Asheboro instead, be easier for me to try. That sounds freaking amazing!

Yeah I can’t remember the name but I know where you’re taking about. It’s pretty good. Not as good as the hype IMO but yeah you feel like you might get stabbed in the parking lot.

Funny thing is the artsy district is a block up the road.

It's funny, to me, how quickly a place can go from nice to sketchy in only a block or two.

Ahem....I’ve kept this to myself so as to avoid the rif-raf.

I didn’t think it was too bad. $9 for the sandwich and a side. $2 for the soda.

That's not bad there... The hot chicken at Buxton Hall is like $12-13 with one side I think. I gladly pay it though, it's so good...

Have to give Rocky's a shot at the title next time I'm there...

You must be talking about 12 Bones in the River District.

I’m a little disappointed @Chdamn went without inviting me.

I started to text you but we were basically flying by the seat of our pants.

After a four course breakfast we decided to run up to planet fitness to unfatify. Saw Rocky’s on the way and said we’re stopping there for lunch.

It's even better when real tomatoes are in season instead of those hothouse abominations. I get by Rocky's every time I'm up that way.

I hit there or Sierra Nevada when I go up there to get my car serviced. Solid food.

......i can see myself going to the gs in the mornin'.......bread, bacon, monterey jack, cheddah, lettuce, mayo, salt, peppah, mater, brown sugar, and a touch of mustard.......

Rock's also has a Valentines Day special called "Love me tenders". No reservations needed, and comes complete with drinks,saled,tenders,2 sides, and desert. All for $35 plus tax.

There's two of those in the area. One on Patton Ave in Asheville and the other on Sweeten Creek Rd. in Fletcher/Arden.
I drive by either of them almost everyday, but I've never stopped. Both are posted.

You guys had some serious grub this weekend didn't ya.

Good deal, makes any trip more pleasant.

Thats it. Their old original store in the River arts district closed for new construction in the area. There are a few other locations around town. BTW- Obama eats there. When he was considering moving there after office his folks all ordered from there. Thank goodness he did not move to Asheville!

Meh. As long as he's not living in the white house anymore, I'm good.

Is it even possible to eat in Asheville based on restaurants being posted?

Speaking of Popeye's. I ate, not only the first time from there...ever, but it was their spicy chicken sandwich. This was yesterday.

Not gonna lie. It was good. It wasn't so good that I'll have to get it again, asap, but it was good. I'll probably eat it again when it's very convenient.

I wouldn't count on their marketing team asking for your endorsement!

The Arden/Fletcher location also has on-site brewery. Thankfully, the food is still just as good as it was before it became famous. But, it's still not nearly as good as Hubba Hubba Smokehouse.
