Buccaneer Gun Club IDPA

Lon said yesterday that the January 7 match will be a B.U.G. match.

I'm in if the weather holds up.

I've never shot in the snow...at the beach. This could get fun.

Mainly cloudy with a mixture of rain and snow showers developing in the afternoon. High 42F. Winds N at 10 to 15 mph. [IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","src":"http:\/\/icons.wxug.com\/i\/c\/v4\/snow.svg"}[/IMG2]

Match has definitely been cancelled due to weather Forcast. No reschedule, next match will be 1st Saturday in February.

February's match will be a B.U.G. match.From Lon's email:

The Buccaneer Gun Club match for Saturday, February 4th 2017, will start at our usual time of 10AM and will be an IDPA rules B.U.G. (backup Gun) match. Please be at the range by 9:30AM to check in. BGC is a cold range (YOU MAY NOT HAVE A LOADED FIREARM UNTIL DIRECTED TO LOAD BY A SAFETY OFFICER WHEN YOU ARE ON THE FIRING LINE) and eye and ear protection is required for everyone including spectators. The match fee is reduced to $10 if you signup online (Link is below in this email) before midnight, Friday February 3rd and $15 after that time or at the match. Signing up online helps us with check-in, scoring and management. Please bag and unbag your firearms in one of our four designated safe areas. They are clearly marked as such and if you are unsure, just ask one of the match personnel to direct you to one. An IDPA BUG match is designed for semi-automatic handguns of at least .380 caliber with barrels of 3.5" or less, and revolvers with 2.5" inch and shorter barrels. If you choose to shoot the match with a handgun that is not BUG legal you may do so, but you will be scored as NOT FOR COMPETITION. In a BUG match concealment is not required, you will not be required to draw from a holster (most shooting starts with your handgun held at low ready), and reloads are done off the clock. Targets are generally closer than you will see in a regular IDPA match, so this is a great venue for introducing new shooters (spouses, sons, daughters, etc.) to the sport. We are planning five stages with two five round strings each so plan on around 50 rounds, but if for some reason you have to reshoot a stage bring a few extra. Please observe the 13MPH speed limit when entering and leaving the club. The link for signing up at the match is: http://www.idpamatchsignup.com?matchid=16E84650-4CFA-4302-9B37-10DF48EABDEA

I am in, if at all possible. Amp Mangum trcubed fieldgrade

I have a lot going on work wise, and my Mom is also still in rehab (for physical therapy, not for what fieldgrade and I should be in rehab for ). If I have to bow out at the last moment, it will be unavoidable.

Have the new rules changed the size of the BUG box? It looks as if I won't be able to use my 3" 1911 according to the new rule book. It might be J-frame time.

The proposed rules changed it, and then they adjusted the final edition of the rules.

Weather looks fairly clear, if not a little cold for Wilmington.

Anyone else going?

Registration is open:

The Buccaneer Gun Club IDPA match for Saturday, March 4th 2017, will start at our usual time of 10AM. The cost for the match is $15 if you sign up online prior to midnight on March 3rd and $20 after that time or at the match. If you sign up online you will receive email notification as soon as the scores are complete (Usually within a couple of hours after the match is completed) and you will receive a text to your cell phone with scores if your phone supports texting. Also, signing up online saves us time in scoring and allows us to print your scoresheet ahead of time. Please bag and unbag your firearms in one of our four designated safe areas. They are clearly marked as such and if you are unsure, just ask one of the match personnel to direct you to one. We are planning on five high round count stages so plan on needing around 100 rounds for the match. A concealment garment (vest, jacket etc.) is REQUIRED for this March match. One of the stages will be a challenging "inside the vehicle" stage so that will be a definite fun factor for this match. Please observe the 13MPH speed limit when entering and leaving the club. The link for signing up for the match follows: http://www.idpamatchsignup.com?matchid=56F2C133-AB1A-412C-BC2C-53CB0D4A169C

In.
Like Flynn.

I was hanging out with all the fastest shooters, but none of the mojo rubbed off.

Planning on going as long as nothing comes up.
I think Richard is going to meet us in Benson too, so at least four of us from the H20 Wet Team (see what I did there?) will shoot with the Wilmington Mafia.

Killin me. Got too many things to do/catch up here. My honey-do list has become a book.
I'm taking the wife's sedan. We have one more seat left. @Amp Mangum Tell him where Lon is taking us for lunch and what's happening. Might want to PM it since it involves the Wilmington Mafia and all.
