Never go full Derek on anything
I was wondering about a fiber optic front being picked up with a weapon light. Anybody else support that?
Anyone tried these sights designed by Dave Spaulding?

I think once you find a front sight with a paired rear u-notch you like you won’t go back to square notches.Nice thread. I have never really looked at or considered a U-Notch rear sight but now I am researching the heck out of it and I think I like the idea for EDC.
I'm about to replace the OEM sights on a few Glocks and that Ameriglo set @fieldgrade referenced looks like something I would like to try.
The "u-notch vs square notch" rear sight differences/choice is interesting.

I have a gun set up thusly by King Sight Company....in around 1930.Black U notch rear......King Gold bead reflector front.

My rear sight u-notches are about .02 wider than my front sight blades. I think that set of Ameriglos I posted is .140 wide front sight blade, and the rear notch is .160.
On my 1911’s I have been running a .120 wide front sight blade, and .140 wide u-notches.
The lime green darn near glows in the dark and/or bright sunshine. It really pops. Plus the lab engineers at Sylvania where I worked from 79-89 as an industrial/commercial lighting rep told us green is the easiest color for the human eye to see. Thanks for the reply Ash. Curious if you ever had the opportunity to try the "green tritium/orange outline" offering vs the "green/lime outline" you settled on?
Some reviews I have read state that the green/lime is hard to pick up in sunlight while others say the green/orange outline washes out in the same conditions. Damn internet reviews. I'd rather hear the opinion of folks I trust. Thinking I might have to grab one of each and see for myself I suppose.
I've run a timer on folks running both, not intentionally looking at their sights. The green surround never really stood out. The orange I couldn't ignore, which is why I bought it. Complete opposite of my experience with fiber optic fronts. Thanks for the reply Ash. My favorite blaster for the past several years, G43 Talo has the orange set up and I won’t change it because it darn near shoots itself, but the lime green I installed on my G48 is REALLY bright.
