What is your favorite pistol sight set up?

Green fiber front with blacked out rear.
The setup works great during the day and the green picks up enough light in lower light or with a weapon light in the house to still draw your eye to it.

Truglo TFX are huge footprint but I kinda like having the Fiber and the tritium also. Neither one makes up for point shooting practice at 3 yards.

I use I-Dot Pro orange fronts with Warren Sevigny rears on everything but my little guns. They get CAP sights...

Anyone tried these sights designed by Dave Spaulding?

I particularly love those sights for small guns. They line up nicely in low light and the eye makes sense of the sight picture easily.

From a self-defense perspective to develop muscle memory instead of traditional aiming I have a Glock 22 with a smooth slide, no sights on it. I used to train with that almost 3 times a week.

On my daily carries I have Dawson Precision night sights on the CZ and Trijicons on the Shield.

Nice thread. I have never really looked at or considered a U-Notch rear sight but now I am researching the heck out of it and I think I like the idea for EDC.

I'm about to replace the OEM sights on a few Glocks and that Ameriglo set @fieldgrade referenced looks like something I would like to try.

The "u-notch vs square notch" rear sight differences/choice is interesting.

I think once you find a front sight with a paired rear u-notch you like you won’t go back to square notches.

My rear sight u-notches are about .02 wider than my front sight blades. I think that set of Ameriglos I posted is .140 wide front sight blade, and the rear notch is .160.

On my 1911’s I have been running a .120 wide front sight blade, and .140 wide u-notches.

Thanks for the reply Ash. Curious if you ever had the opportunity to try the "green tritium/orange outline" offering vs the "green/lime outline" you settled on?

Some reviews I have read state that the green/lime is hard to pick up in sunlight while others say the green/orange outline washes out in the same conditions. Damn internet reviews. I'd rather hear the opinion of folks I trust. Thinking I might have to grab one of each and see for myself I suppose.

The lime green darn near glows in the dark and/or bright sunshine. It really pops. Plus the lab engineers at Sylvania where I worked from 79-89 as an industrial/commercial lighting rep told us green is the easiest color for the human eye to see.

My favorite blaster for the past several years, G43 Talo has the orange set up and I won’t change it because it darn near shoots itself, but the lime green I installed on my G48 is REALLY bright.

I've run a timer on folks running both, not intentionally looking at their sights. The green surround never really stood out. The orange I couldn't ignore, which is why I bought it. Complete opposite of my experience with fiber optic fronts.

Thank you for your input gentlemen. Very much appreciated.

G48 with green Ameriglo on left, G43 with orange Ameriglo on right, in low light.

But enough light so you can’t see the tritium glow.
