I have had a 45 Tirant silencer for about 5 or 6 years now. Its a good silencer. Works well and I have a bunch of pistons and adapters so I was thinking of buying another for compatibility. I did have an issue with it a few months ago where all the guys went downrange. I found them all and I didnt see anything that looked like a baffle strike but obviously there was an issue and more than anything I wanted the threads checked out on the end cap so I sent it in to AAC in Alabama to get looked at . That was 10 weeks ago. Ive called several times to see how my silencer is doing and when I might get it back. They dont know. They havent even looked at it yet. They cant tell me where it is in the queue or anything other than "it might take 7-8 weeks from the time we get it to get it repaired" . OK. Its been 10 weeks so wheres my silencer? "Oh, we havent looked at it yet but it can take 7-8 weeks". . I know what happened. AAC , Once a good company with a strong history of innovation and customer service got bought out by Remington and now all that is gone. I'll get my silencer back someday but as far as new purchases go AAC is dead to me.

The acquisition of any firearms related company buy Remington or Freedom Group should be referred to as “the touch of death” with the trail of dead companies they have left.

Yep, I see your point 200% and feel or should I say have felt that way for for maybe 10 years or so ... a couple years after Freedom Group ( under Cerberus funding) started their match from Bushmaster thru Remington & DPMS into Marlin in that 2006-2009 span and basically blew them up.

I have a fair amount of pre-Freedom Group Remingtons, a couple Marlins, a couple of Para Ordinances (both Canadian vintage). I use to be a Remington lover (700’s and 870’s especially), Marlin lever gun (I love my 60’ era 39A) and others but now if someone gave me a new one I’d be trading it without firing a single round. Something say pre-2005 from those manufacturersIs way more appealing to me even with no factory support than what if any backing the new stuff gets.
 
There is a thread on ARFCOM by a former DPMS employee that's interesting, IIRC he claimed only 2 guys remain at AAC doing repairs and nobody is running anything on the production side of the house.

I've got 3 AAC cans and it is troubling when I think about any warranty work I may need in the future.

On one of my phone calls the rep, who was obviously not even at AAC let it slip that there was only ONE guy at AAC doing repairs. He was a Remington customer service guy so he was probably either lying or just making things up but he may have hit the nail on the head.
 
That sucks..... AAC used to be a decent company and the TiRant is a great can. That whole group has went down the hockey pipe.

Investors buying a company centered around NFA items makes little sense to me. They want to see short term returns and long term value, but the nature of NFA and as a result the consumer behavior makes this very difficult. They’re also not going to see huge organic growth in NFA items without a lot of investment, so what do they do in order to see the return they expect, cut cut cut. I give you AAC.

AAC was at the top of their game and one of the hottest suppressor brands before Freedom/Cerberus/Rem ruined it. It’s a shame to see successful businesses, especially mid-sized ones, destroyed like this IMO.

My SDN and SDN-6 both have Omega threads now, and my Ti-Rant 9 and 45 have been sold.

If a company is not producing new product they don't have to care about customer service any more.

Are 51T mounts in short supply? I have several extra I picked up cheap "just in case" over the years.
