an I guess they didn't hear about the corona virus.

Protesters took to the streets in Raleigh, N.C., late Tuesday in response to a police officer-involved shooting that resulted in a gunman being shot and wounded, reports said.
Demonstrators said police were slow to release information on the shooting. Some protesters gathered outside the residence of Raleigh Police Chief Cassandra Deck-Brown. Others grabbed an American flag from the governor's mansion just before 1 a.m. The flag was later seen burning on the street, according to WNCN-TV.
We need immediate and swift transparency regarding this incident because the community has a right to know and needs to know what’s going on,” protester Kerwin Pittman told the station.
Raleigh police released an official statement saying they had responded to a 911 call involving a man with a gun at around 6:40 p.m.

The suspect, Javier Torres, 26, was shot after police ordered him to drop a gun and he attempted to flee, authorities said. They said a handgun was found at the scene.

"Mr. Torres ran upon the arrival of the responding officers and a foot chase ensued, during which police repeatedly ordered Mr. Torres to stop and drop the gun," police said in a statement. "During the chase, Mr. Torres was shot one time by a responding officer. He was transported to a nearby hospital by EMS."

No officers were injured during the incident.

Torres was shot near the location where police killed Soheil Antonio Mojarrad, 30, after he approached an officer with a knife last April.

Bodycam footage was turned off during that encounter, but police said the officer on Tuesday was wearing his body camera. Other officers present during the shooting also had their cameras activated, police said.

The State Bureau of Investigation will conduct an investigation.

"She called for protesters please conduct themselves within the boundaries of the law and asked the public not to rush to judgment in this incident.

Deck-Brown said she understands the public frustration and concern"

Understand?

Big part of this is WRAL started doing the “special breaking news” thing about an officer involved shooting within minutes of the action with no information other than there was an officer involved shooting up until the 11pm news. I kinda think that gave time for rumors and emotions to fester and boil to the point it did. Yep, MSM, good old WRAL, stirred the crap up more than it should ... at least that’s what I think.

WRAL and false social media posts created the protest. The "guilty until proven innocent" culture created in the liberal congress fueled the protest.

Just like Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown
This become normal protocal under obama, and now we've trained the public that it's okay to riot for any reason.

Gives them a story to run that isn't virus related. Facts don't matter, get some eyeballs on their content.

Too bad NC law won't let them release the cam footage until it goes thru the FISA-like court. Thanks McRino for that.

I have no problem with it as long as it is only released after trial for both sides. My opinion is that the police/DA shouldn't be the ones who decide Pre-Trial what gets released.

They'll continue to riot and destroy property as long as LE allows it. It's their job to arrest those that break the law.

That is true. If something like this goes to trial and they release all evidence before hand, how can they be assured of getting an impartial jury. They should release the cam recordings AFTER an impartial investigation and if necessary, a trial is conducted. With democrats creating the "guilty culture" in America, based on their efforts to get rid of Trump, they have influenced a minority of people to disregard the law based on unproven information.

If that guy had been white there would have been no protests. He flashed a gun, threatened somebody, ran with a gun when the cops showed up, did not drop it and got shot. That's about what you would expect to happen.

Not sure if it’s the same Javier Torres but there is one in the NCDPS listed as age 27 who is a convicted felon of Felony Evasion some years back along a separate incident a couple years later of Misdemeanor Speeding, Reckless, Failure to Stop Flashing Light and a Misdemeanor Speeding to Elude. If there is an age error so we got another Felon with a gun who is on his THIRD attempt to elude.

Stolen US Flag from Governor Mansion was burned at the protest.

Bodycam footage has been released. I think he faces three charges, including a GATTOP charge.

Looked like he was running away with a pizza box ( if it's the same dude?) dint see no gun! Shot that boy behind the shrubry ....

So that's why all the news stories dried up about the shooting.
Exactly. The truth comes out and the roaches scatter. The video even shows the heartless officers rendering aid to the suspect until EMS arrives.

Don't worry - if history repeats itself like it keeps repeating itself repeatedly, there will be another protest over the next shooting of another good boy who didn't do nothing wrong, but THIS TIME it will be justified...

Broken clock and all, eventually they'll get one right.

Then they'll be vindicated.

A good buddy of mine happens to be a black liberal-ish conspiracy nut... (by liberalish, i mean left of 90s clintons, but still right of current DNC)
he believes that both parties are working together to maintain the status quo and will ONLY publicize the cases that are easily disproven, but will try to hide the rare really bad cases.
Easily justified shooting because you tried to kill a cop? stir up a riot!
Clearly unjustified shooting because you only had a sandwich in your hand? hide that shiat!
That way the public is always kept fighting mad and stupid but can't quite put their finger on why.

I hate when he makes sense.

Well the status quo seems to be that cops are bad, I don't see them covering up evidence of an actual bad cop.

No one want's to focus on the actual problems facing our society because that means we bear some responsibility for our own actions.

I've said for a while that my problem with the BLM/SJW crowd is they are always backing the wrong horse. They almost always make a huge case out of the worst cases. Clear criminal intent and wrongdoing. Justified SD shooting. Hey, lets riot! Shoot a guy in a stairwell going up to his apartment with his girlfriend, meh no big deal. It just does not make any sense at all.

No...The police have no legal obligation to enforce the law! THE SUPREME COURT has already ruled on this.
Police have no obligation to PROTECT (or serve presumably.) As for enforcing laws, at least they aren't independent contractors like in Mexico. OTOH no DUI's ...

I was gonna say something similar, they are sworn in to uphold the law and what the Supreme Court ruled was not about upholding the law (they do have that obligation) but about the infamous "to protect and to serve" part. The ruling was that they are not obligated to personally protect anybody.
