With warmer weather comes shorts and t-shirts and I would like a different beltless carry. I have always carried IWB small of the back but apparently that is frowned upon in close quarters defensive situations. I am trying appendix carry with a Glock 42. I have a decent minimalist style holster I am using. It is pretty uncomfortable to me though. Any tips tricks or that would help or a particular holster anyone favors? I seen @Butter using this style carry at the M&G and was impressed with the speed and concealability of this carry and have been kicking around trying it since then. Anyway post up how you carry concealed in summer clothing.1585516512614-1113929469.jpg 1585516583848951300784.jpg 1585516640705984536767.jpg

OWB leather pancake from @chiefjason is my preferred method...including when in shorts and t-shirt. I do this mainly with a G23 and CJ horizontal mag holder, but also with a G21 and CJ vertical mag holder.

I have been pocket carrying a G42 in a DeSantis holster for about 3 years. Weight is 1lb 2.6 oz. I have a Sig P365 which fits nicely in the DeSantis too. It weighs 1lb 10 oz. The extra weight is a little too heavy to my liking in my pocket. I am going to get a OWB for the Sig.

20200329_CZcarryRig1.jpg On a sturdy belt around my waist (I never wear pants with loops except in a match!) I have whatever plastic holster I use for the gun of the moment, clipped on the belt, and then the pants waistband pulled up on that little lip at the bottom of the clip.

Weird, I guess, but it works for me, and the waistband of the pants keeps the holster in place when I draw the gun.

At the moment it's a CZ in a leather holster, but soon to be a plastic one, since it's right up against my side and weather's getting hot.

I carry the same thing year round.

Shield 9 with TLR6 and truglo TFOs in one of my kydex IWBs appendix.

Ive tried IWB, OWB, but have settled on AIWB. Its kinda weird at first, but lets face it, there are alot of things that feel weird for the first time....

A Springfield XDS has been with me for a long time now. I used to think I needed alot of rounds with a full size or compact pistol. I like the small size of this thing and how light it is.

99% of the time, hot or cold, it's OWB at 3:30/4:00
1% of the time it's pocket carry.

I tried ankle, appendix and off body but they didn't work out.

Strong side OWB puts it right where you need it, doesn't obstruct any moving parts, doesn't pinch when you bend over and doesn't get blocked when you sit down.

And quickest to draw in a rush. I need to figure out a way to do this ALL year.

AIWB in Dara minimalists for concealed carry, year round.

Sig 365 right front pocket. Something else in another pocket Always. I have carried this way legally in S.C. for 44 years. There have been occasions of 1911s and P35s Mexican carry.

Sig 365 in a @chiefjason leather and elephant Pocket Premium. Perfectly named.

VP9SK OWB at about 3:00 on the right. 15 round VP9 magazine on the left. Both in @chiefjason hybrids hanging on a steel core leather belt. Cover it all with mamu-sized polo shirts.

Do you ever practice drawing as quickly as possible and firing on targets with this? ONLY because I love you do I ask.

Gen 1 Shield 9mm with 8 round magazine in a Remora holster. Seven round magazine in my weak side pocket. If I'm in my neighborhood taking my dog for a quick walk usually a Gen 2 LCP in my pocket with an extra mag in my weak side pocket in a Remora again.

I spent so much money on holsters years ago... Only one i still have is a crossbreed that i picked up in a trade. It was made for a smith 6906, but ive found it holds almost every semi ive ever put in it...not a 1911... Keep a g19 in it now. Was a little loose, but i hit it with a hair dryer on high and put glock in and pressed the edges and it now holds that like it was meant for it. Ill probably use, remold and use again until this thing falls apart. I tried pocket carry with lots of guns but it feels too bulky for me personally. As long as your comfy while carrying safely and can get to that booger quick, Id say go with what works for you and your body shape.

p365 vedder pocket locker. that thumb release option is pretty awesome

IWB kydex with a fair amount of forward cant, on a Wilderness belt.

I’ve tried many different types, brands, and price points of holsters, and have settled on the lower end of Kydex makers (eBay for the most part). Kydex isn’t difficult to work with so it doesn’t take a genius or thousands worth of machinery to make good ones.

Bit of an outlier here, Bianchi Patroltek duty belt with a Serpa holster, 2 spare mags and a bunch of other bells and whistles attached. Overkill, I know, but I started using it when I was OCing and just liked the rock solid feel of the whole rig.

IWB 4:00.

IWB because I use single belt clip Kydex holsters that are easy to take on and off with one hand, gun stays in the safety, I mean the holster. Full sweat guard mandatory.

4:00 because I'm too fat for appendix carry, and 4:00 keeps me from looking lopsided straight on when concealing and keeps it from banging door jams in discrete company.

Kydex because I can practice my draws and presentation easily with one hand re-holstering. Leather holsters even with a kydex reinforcing strip just don't cut it.

I am really commited to AIWB. I just ordered a cheap kydex appendix rig for my G19 and I am going to try it for awhile and see if I can acclimate to it. I carry strong side at 3 o'clock OWB in cooler weather with a belt and like it I just want more concealability in less clothing.

Les Baer 1911 Commanche in Bianchi shoulder rig (a al Miami Vice) during cool weather with some sorta outer wear. Smith Body Guard 380 or Sig P290RS in pocket holster during shorts season.

OWB holster here as well. If my shirt rises too much, then I was just “opening carrying for a second”. I have ruined way too many pants with IWB holsters and hate shopping for clothes.

if I wasn’t married I would probably carry appendix, for the chicks.

IWB holster of my design about 3:30, GLOCK 43 95% of the time... Sometimes when working it's a P-32 in a cargo pocket holster.

Sometimes, when we're in the middle of an apocalypse I carry a GLOCK 20 and a spare mag...
