I’ll admit it...never saw this one coming. Here’s the browser version of an email they sent out this morning:

Silencer Shop Form 1 service and solvent traps

Also selling the jigs and individual parts. Granted the prices seem really high...but good for them.

Just as I was thinking about building a form 1 suppressor. It must be meant to be.

I absolutely would have gone this route if available when I did my form 1

For anybody actually considering this, there’s a guy on ARF and the Form 1 boards that’s going to make a better jig than the one SS is selling. It’ll actually screw onto the baffle and then you drill the hole.

And I have been getting emails and phones about them. JKSilencers+/- JK Armament. Same Same???

Ive been meaning to message you to see how you’re doing?!?!

Out of stock. How much were they?
I think $500 or so without any options (other adapters, end caps, etc) and none of the equipment (jigs, etc)

And that includes aluminum cones for the rifle version.

Individual parts (based on prices I saw somebody post on ARF) were:
Al cones $41
SS cones $59
Mounts $88
End caps $39
Baffle jig $100
End cap jig $58
Wrench $25

Another similar option is this place: https://jrmachinepro.com/collections/frontpage

It won't save you any money over a commercial suppressor, but the ability to have it completed inside of a month instead of 10 is where that money is going. Christ Costa has a video about it here, seems very easy to drill out after your stamp comes in. I wanted to add, the ability to get the thread pitch so that I could use all of my existing Rugged brand 3-lug and fixed mounts was the thing that made me impulse buy one.

There is always the JMPF company. Ive got an extra stamp to try out so I ordered one. Not sure I like the end caps and the cones are too shalow but essentially the same as a K baffle face. For under $200 its a better deal.

Evidently this is what happens when you buy one of the “rifle” kits from SS and put 8 mags of 5.56 through it. @Jeffncs - you still want an aluminum rifle can? :p

Dang!! No Al for me! I did some reading and learned quickly that Al was a bad idea!! I decided to take your advice and am on a waiting list for an ECCO Machine SS trap.

Just checked on these again to see about stock. Just realized they're aluminum. Even the rifle version..? Who's idea was that? Anyone else making stainless or Ti kits? Other than the one you posted upstream?

The full rifle kit was aluminum. No idea why.

They offered individual SS cones, but no full kit. Not sure if they had SS ends or not.

I don’t know of anybody else offering a kit in a tubeless design, if that’s what you’re asking.

Wish the chi-coms would make those monocore filters in steel...

Someone has titanium traps for $250 someplace. I want a dealer that will fill out the form and submit. I looked at the form one and the wording is confusing and I know I'll screw it up and that's why I don't bother.

I have step-by-step instructions on how to do it. Don’t let the paperwork scare you at all. I’ll be glad to walk you through it.

^THIS^ Thanks to BigWaylon's instructions, they helped me get passed a couple hurdles filling out the eform. And if you have any questions, he is gracious enough to answer them.

Me too. Me too. I need this.

They’re stickies in this section.

One is the old EForms guide. It’s still >90% good, but was done before the RPQ form existed.

The other is the Guide to NFA forms, which deals with the paper copies. It helps to know how those work when trying EForms.

You can ask questions in those threads. Or start a new thread. Or send me a PM. Or get my mobile number and send me a text. Whatever support you need.

I can promise you it’s not near as difficult as you may think it is. The Form 1 and Form 4 aren’t really much different than a 4473. It just wants info on the person/entity and the firearm. Same yes/no questions on all the forms mentioned.

I heard Eforms is up and running again.
It was fast back when I used it. and if you screw something up, you just resubmit. They refund your money and you don't have to wait a year to find out...

It’s been up and running for over a year and a half. Just for Form 1s, not 4s. And it’s no longer limited to entities...you can submit as an individual.

And what about help with a trust?

As in you don’t have one at all? If that’s the case, the most recent one I got was done at www.thetrustshop.net and was very simple. $49, with free forms online for amendments and assignment of property pages.

Others use Quicken. Others use a lawyer and pay hundreds of dollars. Your choice.

Correct. Starting from scratch. What comes first, trust or suppressor. No NFA in my house presently because there was essentially no NFA allowed in my old state.

Trust. Because you have to file a copy of it with the Form 1/4.

And in case you didn’t know this, you don’t go get a stamp and then pick an item. I answer that question a LOT when I work the gun show booth for THSF. The form you submit has the serial number on it, so you actually have to buy the item and then submit the form...instead of submitting a form, receiving the stamp, then going and picking out the firearm.

Dang. Just saw the pictures of the baffles. Holy crap!
Marketing bullet- get’s lighter with each use.

CHRIS
One of the guys on AR15 called it a marketing feature...self-clipping baffles. Described it this way:

“Our dynamic flame-cut baffle design produces unique, random, turbulence inducing features, and leverages the benefits of a self-cleaning alloy with less weight gain than old-technology fixed bore designs”. “So complex that Oak Ridge National Labs super computers haven’t even attempted to model the ever changing computational fluid dynamics. “

:D

I used to do mine with a trust and have a doze or so guns and silencers that are on a trust. Since eforms is doing individual and the 41P NFA modifications actually made everything a LOT easier to go individual versus trust I do all my new stuff exclusively individual. Its fast and super easy. No CLEO signoffs, do the prints yourself and fill out a form online with a selfie pic. You can literally fill out everything and do the prints yourself at home and get it submitted and the prints in the mailbox in under 20 minutes.

Counterpoint to ^that^. I wouldn’t say it’s a LOT easier. It roughly the same work, just split over two forms.

Bottom line is make your trust/corp vs individual decision on all your other reasons. It’s easy enough to use EForms either route you take, that it shouldn’t really be a deciding factor.

A single person trust has multiple advantages over an individual. An individual has zero advantages I can think of over a single person trust...other than the cost of the trust (which can be free).

The reason I didnt go individual with previous builds is the CLEO signoff. I once lived in a county where the sheriff absolutely refused to sign off on silencers. Before Trusts were the rage I had even done a few under a corporation that was formed expressly to buy NFA with. I don't let anyone else shoot my guns especially NFA without me there . Not that I dont trust them its just that they dont know as much about the legal pitfalls associated with them if they do something stupid. As far as estate planning I have every confidence that my lovely wife will sell all my guns and silencers etc off at a garage sale within a week of my passing no matter what I tell her to do. Trust is just another set of docs that has to kept up with.

You have my name and number. Make sure to file it away with your NFA stuff so I get dibs. :p
