Checking to see if anyone has experience using Form 1 Builder solvent trap kits. The kits appear to be high quality albeit they are a little on the pricier side.

If I was to order a kit, I’d likely go with a 8” x 1.5” rifle trap with some additional accessories (end cap to direct onto a different caliber barrel, conversion end cap for use with a YHM muzzle device). I was going to use their cerakote option for price. I’ll be going forward with a form 1 shortly so I’d have to get it engraved Anyway. Probably ask the engraver to cerakote it once he’s done with the engraving work.

You’re going to build a rifle can out of aluminum tube and cones?

I was considering that option so long as it doesn’t blow up. Online reviews have been good, but they can easily be faked. I’ll use stainless or carbon steel if the Al won’t last.

To all: Please forgive my lack of knowledge and dumb questions. I’m reading a lot, but asking even more b/c not everything I want to know is being found.

I will not be building a form 1 can for my .308 using Al after some more reading.

Just did some more reading... no. I am going a different a direction. Thanks for the thought provoking question.
