I've been working on and inspecting Garands for going on 30 years now. That and have owned/shot just about every milsurp out there. I have a full set of Ordnance gages for the Garand/ M14 /M16 and Carbine.

I even have the nearly unobtainable garand receiver stretch gage to check for wear in the firing pin bridge area.

Any interest in me providing a tech inspection in the Piedmont area or even further if you have multiple rifles? I don't mind travelling as I will come to you. I will even fill out a datasheet on the Garand as well...noting any defects or issues I find.

Would love for you to check my Garands (Two - one standard, one D) when we can get together. Thanks for the offer.

Interested but I can't get out there the next few weeks. How many rifles would you want to do to make it worth it to go to Mebane, maybe at DPRC?

I'll probably be at the Raleigh gunshow 6-7 May with a table so I can do them there if that is an option for some of you farther East.

I an retired so my schedule is pretty flexible. No hurry, should be able to fit it in whenever you have other business over this way.

Same here.. maybe we can coordinate with some of the other locals here and have a big gathering and knock out a bunch of them.

I dug out most of my gages and can cover M1s, M14s, AR15s, M1903s and carbines..... and .50cal brownings..but I don't think I'll need those!

I'll be at the Raleigh Gun show this weekend if anyone wants an inspection....
Dang! I just now saw this thread. I was at the gun show last weekend but did not know about this until now.

I picked up my first Garand recently and would like to have it inspected. Not in a big hurry, though, I can wait until the next show. In the Raleigh area.

Hello. New member here. I know this is an older thread, and I started a conversation (same as private message?) with the original poster. I live just in Winston Salem, and would be interested in having a receiver checked. Thanks!

I’m in Siler City and have one that was Daddy’s I’d like checked. He was a triple war vet. WW2, Korea, Nam. Sure do miss him!!! And came through Kville yesterday on th way back from a beaver trapping class in Rural Hall.
