Protesting...nah, criminal activity is getting out of hand

MN Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan just spent her portion of the press briefing they just had claiming that "White Supremacists" from the outside are responsible for the Looting and Arson in Minneapolis. I guess I'm naive, because I did not see that one coming.
And the folks who didn't look like "White Supremacists" were rescuing the large-screen TVs from imminent destruction.

10 USC §253. Interference with State and Federal law

The President, by using the militia or the armed forces, or both, or by any other means, shall take such measures as he considers necessary to suppress, in a State, any insurrection, domestic violence, unlawful combination, or conspiracy, if it—

(1) so hinders the execution of the laws of that State, and of the United States within the State, that any part or class of its people is deprived of a right, privilege, immunity, or protection named in the Constitution and secured by law, and the constituted authorities of that State are unable, fail, or refuse to protect that right, privilege, or immunity, or to give that protection; or

(2) opposes or obstructs the execution of the laws of the United States or impedes the course of justice under those laws.

In any situation covered by clause (1), the State shall be considered to have denied the equal protection of the laws secured by the Constitution.
Remember that the 82nd Airborne took a trip to Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1957.
Well, in my opinion it's not very intelligent of the 4D chessmaster to send in federal troops, instead of making the state/city responsible of properly handling the situations.
Wasn't the reason he didn't declare federal lockdowns so he could avoid being blamed? Let a more regional process happen? Why not the same as that?
Tell the states "you allowed/made the mess, clean it up"...
I'm sure it's going to play out as "damned if he did, damned if he didn't"

The troops are on alert. They could be sent at the request of Governors, so Governors can't claim the President would not help. The President does not have to do anything unilaterally.

This is essentially what Trump did with lockdowns: he said he had federal authority to order lockdowns, the Governors complained loudly, and Trump told them to handle the matter themselves in their states." Like the lockdowns, the locals will now loudly demand to have the final say on control in their cities/states.

ADDED:

The Mayor of Minneapolis "welcomes" the National Guard after the Governor of Minnesota called out the state's entire National Guard. And Trump said the US military was ready to help if needed.

Trump should make his next speech a word for word quote of an Obama speech just to troll the F out of the left LOL
I have been hoping for him to do that since 2016

Rationalization. The Mayor, Lt. Governor, and Governor are all playing the same tune that the National Guard is being called in to protect the community from the "outsiders" who are responsible for looting and arson (locals certainly would not be involved in things like that).

I’d love to See Trump show up in Minneapolis tonight with a handful of Secret Service Agents and a vest. Not going to happen but would be a sure way to win the election. All but the worst of the vermin would have to be impressed. Hopefully he could calm things down a little. Maybe shout ‘lock them up’ about the 4 cops. :D

Maybe have a few snipers on stand by. Guessing the Secret Service wouldn’t like my plan.

They'd absolutely hate it. but they'd do it if he told them to.

Oh man I'm pissed.....

Don’t be pissed. Just realize that ignorant, violent people only need a simple excuse to act like violent a-holes. They are not worth your anger. But they may be worth a few minutes of your time preparing in case you meet on the street.

My friends are the ones down there in harms way right now, I sit here with a bum hand...every reason.

Bud, I promise your not alone.

This place burns, our historical buildings burned/vandalized. Violence and lawlessness. Our friends sit there with their hands tied, told to move further away, stay professional.

Fayettevilles mayor marches with them, gets him some pics for the paper. Market House was broken into shortly after 1700. Went out over viper to command when dispatch was notified. Fire started around 1900.

THEY KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON.

Once again, Fayetteville's management does what they do best, roll over. Same thing they did with that stupid rap concert a couple years ago when people started up and the officers/fire/ems were calling for backup

This lies square on the mayor and the police chiefs shoulders.

My girlfriend's sons are deputies in Berkley County. It borders Charleston County. They have been called in to assist the City of Charleston Police for Riot Control for lack of a better description. There has been a curfew put in place in Charleston and Columbia because the protests have become violent and a lot of property has been damaged, cars turned over and set on fire. Several Cops in Columbia have already been hurt and one is in critical condition after being hit by some sort of projectile. This shit is getting out of hand. I just don't understand it. What are they protesting? They cop they are protesting has been arrested and charged. Isn't that what the protesters were after in the beginning? I fully understand the right as a citizen to be able to voice your protest against something that has happened, but who in the hell thinks by destroying property is doing anybody or anything any good? I hope someone will give the order to let the cops get aggressive and clear out the protesters using whatever force is needed, but I'm sure they will make them just stand around and be a target for rocks, bottles and bricks.

Are you sure it would subdue them? Are you sure it wouldn’t turn into a Pyrrhic victory that enrages them even more and in more places? Are you certain it wouldn’t result in them turning deadly. The People outnumber the cops 1,000 to one and could strip them of their badge and gun quite easily if they chose to. I think we may be heading there.

Near as I can tell they believe that they’ve been oppressed and that the police are killing them with impunity. They don’t want to be policed. Now, I’ll be one of the first ones to say that govt. has lost its legitimacy and become tyrannical giving us every right to rewrite the social contract and replace it, peaceably if possible but violently if necessary, but I sure don’t get how they believe their BS. The crime statistics alone tell another story. I think they’ve just been spoon fed the poison for so long they believe it.

I am listening to officers in downtown Charleston attempting to deal with two large crowds of rioters. As soon as they get one dispersed, the other group forms back up. One officer had a close call and was actually helped by a couple of protestors. Along with city, Charleston County, Berkeley County (live PD), and North Charleston are downtown. They are starting to deploy "less lethal" methods. Sounds like Berkeley County forgot their masks.

The 911 calls are all the same, breaking windows and reports of gun shots.

City Fire Department is getting stuff thrown at them while they are trying to put out a dumpster fire.

SLED is on scene.

"Come move your cars, they are breaking every window as they move up."

I'm just waiting for all the daily "news stories" next week about how much the corona infection numbers are at all time highs, just like what happened after the state started phase 2.

Fayetteville Street in Raleigh is torn up. Hardly a building on that street that does not have widows and damage to stores .looting and dumbasses acting like animals.Protest organizers left and then the thugs moved it destroying every thing in sight

There was a protest downtown Salisbury tonight on Main and Innes
Peaceful from what I saw (we drove through at about 6pm and then again about 90 minutes or so later)
But just people with signs on the street corner.

Worst part were two groups of young (high school, just out of HS) kids that were revving their engines a lot and driving around the block repeatedly
One of the cars had two girls sitting on the window sills on the rear doors and waving their arms around.

We could see them making 'laps' from our dinner spot, rooftop view

i'll be honest. Before I saw minneapolis wednesday night, i wasn't sure if I was going to be taking a 3 day weekend... but I work in a less-than-wonderful area of fayetteville and I had a feeling.
So my "half day" on thursday turned into 9hrs and taking one of the work laptops home for the weekend so I could do a little work from my desk at home...
No chance in heck i'd want to be working in the city as late as I normal do right now...

Is she a Viking Native American?

Maybe another Fauxcahontas / Lieawatha. With a name like Flanagan she at-minimum married off the reservation.

I also notice having made the "White Supremacist" claim at the Saturday morning press conference, she was the only one of the crew NOT in attendance at the Saturday afternoon press conference. Like Van Jones and Malcolm X pointed out: Grandstanding Crazy Liberal White women (Karens) are the biggest danger to their cause.

My first thoughts after seeing the news this a.m....Animals.

Indeed. They were undoubtedly raised like animals, not civilized people. Watch the videos, mostly teenagers or slightly older, milling about, usually holding their stupid phone up. Some committing destructive acts, like breaking windows and spray painting F—K , which seems to be the limit of their vocabulary, at least when it comes to expressing the emotions they’ve never been taught how to deal with properly. Some were burning stores and looting. This seems to be predominantly in the black areas whereas the window and public property destruction on a lesser scale was wide spread.

One thing is clear, though. This isn’t about George Who. This is bigger. It is indicative of systemic rot and decay in the social fabric.

Another thing that I found interesting is the number of incidents where the outrage was directed at govt. buildings and police. Lots of cop cars destroyed, attacked while occupied, and even cops dragged through the street. Again, this is indicative of a bigger underlying problem that’s been decades in the making.

The "bigger" problem is that "The Great Society" failed. I don't think I have to cite the statistics. The Black Family was destroyed by the welfare state. Mass incarceration of Black males thanks to Clinton-era "superpredator" Democrats (including Joe Biden) finished the job. No breadwinning Daddy= big disadvantage for the boys, it's indisputable Also indisputable is that if you tell Black kids that if they get an education, learn to communicate in the language usually used by employers and bankers, and know how to dress for occasions where it may be perceived as an ability to be cooperative, that is a bad thing because then they're "acting white".

I know that still in 2020 often Black folks don't get a fair shake in cases where they should. There are many other instances where Black folks have had for the past 40 years a built-in leg-up: * Everyone wants minorities on their payroll to "prove" they're not "discriminating". You want a job? A good or better job? Show up reliably, show up early. Cooperate with and Communicate effectively with those you will be interacting with. Then get some work done correctly and reliably. Boom. You'll be in a leadership position before the comparable white guy because *(go back to asterisk and repeat for promotions).

Yes there are bad cops. We've ALL met them. Will Black folks have to sometimes work a little harder to not get abused by a bad cop when compared to a comparably behaved white guy? Probably. Not bringing a thug-culture attitude to interactions with cops (and other major parts of the larger society) may have to be considered though. "Cultural Heritage" is a unproductive thing to cling to if it keeps attracting and producing negative outcomes.

This is much older and deeper than the Great Society or other "recent" occurrences. This is the White Man's Burden writ large. Every failure (South Africa, Sudan, great swathes of India for example) compounded by throwing more resources at it for the "good" of the natives. Except we weren't content with working in their lands, we had to import them because the dirt of our lands would magically "civilize" the barbarian.

If we want to go "Old and Deep" every human being on this planet has a grievance about the sins of past oppressors. I'm focusing on how to fix it, just as the "protesters", Race Hustlers, Democrats, "Progressives" and Karens claim to be doing.

Pictures I've seen shows them clearly disguised in black face.

Could this be the beginning of The Boogalooooo????
For years now, some have been standing at the door of the powder magazine and throwing lit matches inside. But, they keep going out. If isn't the start, it won't be from lack of trying.

Just sayin'

Odd, just tied to visit the Sanford, NC Wally World. It’s shut down with cops barricading the parking lot. No idea why.
