I've been looking at ankle holsters for a j-frame. I know ankle carry isn't the best option for primary carry, but this will be for a BUG or special circumstances. Looking for first hand experiences. Let's hear it.

Practiced back-up ankle carry through the years until around 2015. Practice and good adjustment on your chosen type of ankle holster is a must along with recognizing that you will expose/reveal the firearm if you sit wrong or start crossing your legs. That is a factor only if concealment is important to you. Make sure that your chosen type of ankle holster will not cause you any circulation issues as I found that I had to keep mine fairly snug to keep my firearm securely positioned in one accessible place on my leg.

I have one ankle holster somewhere that is suede lined on the skin side and was fairly comfortable. I more or less evolved to other types of concealment carry styles over the years and kinda moved away from ankle carry even though it proved to be really good options for me at certain times.
