.

I hope to see more of this.

Judging by the quotes in the article, the organizers seem to be pro 2a but not pro America.

“This is for the betterment of mankind,” says Michael Washington, an organizer for the group. “We are saying that we should have the right to wear our weapon on our shoulder and the Second Amendment is the way to do that. We have a right to protect ourselves because we are tired of this crap and the United States promoting the killing of African Americans.”

Was 100% with em...and then they lost me. No one is out huntin black folks.

Its just an armed BLM protest is what it amounts to. Same talking points and same demands. The part about an international body investigating the US was pretty rich too. o_O

I wonder how the media will receive this compared to the "evil alt right extremist boogaloo" movement..
It will be ignored.
Not only that, dem governors will double down and claim that if such a thing ever happened, the police would probably kill them all...

MAY 28 - 'We have to arm ourselves': Black Michigan demonstrators protest brutality
JUNE 12 - “How do you respond to people who say that, ‘If there were a group of Black men who stormed the state capitol that day would have been dead?’” Interviewer Terrell Jermaine Starr asked. “I understand why people say that, and I don’t disagree,” Whitmer replied after pausing.

When i don't feel like playing anymore and want to stop a liberal dead in their tracks I ask them 'If black people in colonial America were allowed to own guns, do you think they would have been slaves?"...I hope this results in greater levels of firearm ownership.

Gun control laws are currently segregating in nature. I won't call them racist because its a socioeconomic thing (though that will impact many minority groups disproportionately). I can't afford a machine gun, but a millionaire can. I can afford all the licensing fees and fingerprinting fees, and stupid safety classes and have a drivers license because I am blessed with enough means to easily afford a car, which I need because I live in suburbs with no real public transit....but an inner city person working a minimum wage job often can not justify the costs associated with CCW (which can easily exceed $350 in some states). Add to that the fact that some may not hav drivers licenses because theyre too poor to own a car when two bus transfers can get them to work...

Gun control advocates have created a class system. To add to the tension and disdain within that classist system is constant exceptions for LEO, those who can demonstrate 'need' (aka cash), special permits for body guards (again the rich)...

If police patrol your community and are given permission to have a particular weapon (presumably because one may need it), then it seems like total BS that 'you' who lives in that community 24/7, not 8hrs a day, should DEFINITELY have the right to own it...I dealt with that nonsense a lot back up north.

Interesting photo Fox chose to highlight news of the event.

It looks to me like a quite old photo of a White LEO (evidence the S&W pistol and holster). CHP I believe.

Didn’t read the article but I’d most likely march with the group as long as Pro-2A is the focus. You don’t have to agree with every point of theirs, heck none of us agree with everything each other believes in. I’m all for getting more people on our side.

I would not however, march in support of BLM protestors who happen to be carrying guns.

and i'm sure this was on every news channel to finally settle that argument that police automatically shoot black men they see with guns, right?

I pared this down a bit for simplicity in response. But keep in mind that I strongly agree with you on many levels.

Gun control is, always was, and always will be about "control".

Those in power seek to control those they perceive as a threat to that power. Who those threats are and where those threats are coming from have changed historically.

Pre-Civil War, gun control wasn't really a legal issue with respect to slaves, because slaves weren't considered "people", they were "property". Afterwards, Jim Crow laws came into existence because of this status change.

And much of the laws since which have dealt with black people have revolved around making, and keeping, the majority of black people dependent on the government for what amounts to a subsistence living.

And that process had expanded significantly in the 20th century to enlarge the numbers of people grossly dependent on the government for a subsidence living, and continues today.

The problem with people trapped in a subsistence living life is they eventually become a growing population of disaffected people unsatisfied with the fact that those in power over them ALWAYS have it better than them AND they find it ever more difficult to lift themselves up out of their enforced poverty because of it.

Enter the ever expanding nature of gun CONTROL laws.

No matter how it's painted, it's ALWAYS about control.

It is, to this day, racist...because those in power STILL conceive minority people to be a threat and therefore must be controlled.

It is socioeconomic...because those in power control and reap great rewards from the status quo and do not wish to lose control over this.

It is political...because politics is about power over people, and that only happens when there are people who can be manipulated and controlled.

Good.
As someone upstream said, not going to agree on everything, but the principle is there - pro-2a.

Looks like it went off well, not just black folks marching. Couple of HPNGC loonies mixed in, but c'est la vie.
I can't post the pics on mobile, but the second pic is great, and the AK guy with the chest rig is rather stylish. Hope thats not a Riley or IO gun.
I tried to grab the pictures to post here but wasn't able to.

I loved the guy in red, white and blue. Is that a cape? And does his shirt say Budweiser? :D

Pic 11 is very interesting, the shorty and I don't think that's a brace.

Sad thing is, 30% of most “ group, parties, color...” understands that the USA is messed up by 70% of their “group”

If we can get them together, we can right the ship and get on course
