Since the 4th is on a Saturday, we get Friday the 3rd off at work. So, I’m planning on going to PHA that morning...weather permitting. Shoot for a bit, then if anybody else wants to we can go find lunch at one of @Jeppo or @Zbizzle911 haunts. :D

Anybody else interested? @Jerzsubbie @HMP ??

@JohnnyB64 - if you’re free, you’re welcome to come check the range out

I’m off that day too and haven’t been out there in a while, so I may join you guys. I just found out my MIL will be in town (she’s actually pretty nice), so put me down as tentative.

Got the PHA Range Report this morning. Still doesn't say when the damn 100 yard range will be back open so it will take some pressure off the 200. Sent them an email back, I don't expect a reply.

Yep. That’s why I’m skipping this Saturday when I’d originally planned to go.

Supposed to be 10 work days. They had the wall tore out last Thursday and we’re delivering the block when I was leaving.

Was there today. Wall is up, they were putting in drains today (it looked like, hell if I know lol)
They were actually closing range at 1 today for a few hours

as for the 3rd, should be in! Hopefully use the bolt 223

@BU2scwMJL ?

I'm not a member, and I don't know where it is, but it sounds like a blast!
Come on. You’re as close as most anybody else.

Maybe in for lunch

Maybe I should mention this will be the maiden voyage for the 10.5” Beowulf. Anybody that wants to is welcome to take a shot or two. (I’d offer more, but I just don’t keep much around) :D

@HMP is taking the first shot even if he doesn’t know it yet. :p

For the record, this gathering will adopt the same guidelines C&E posted for their gun show:

Governor Cooper has ordered that all masks be mandatory as of 5:00 p.m. on Friday. If you attend our gun show and you do not have a mask on, we are going to assume you have a medical condition that prevents you from wearing one.!

We hope to see you at the show!

Have a great weekend!

If one were to wish to become a member of PHA, could this event somehow be used as a qualification or otherwise satisfy some of the requirements for membership?

Doubt it. You really only have to do three things other than filling out the paperwork:

1. attend a meeting
2. do a safety walk-through, including a brief shooting exercise (I shot one mag of 22LR)
3. write a check

the meeting is a once a month opportunity and some restaurant (I went once just to satisfy the requirements)

the only possibility would be if one of the officers (or whoever is on the approved list) was around to watch you shoot and give you the tour in the golf cart...I don’t think @HMP qualifies, but maybe he’ll bring his dad. :D

might see if my upstairs neighbor wants to come shoot, she said she hasn't shot any of her guns in 2 years

i want to clarify that this can be a cashiers check, not just a personal check, when i joined i used a check from the bank

First - Im not getting notification of being tagged, odd.
Second - no, it wouldnt count for your walkthrough, sorry.

Open house satisfies the “attend a meeting” requirement? I was going to do the open house a couple years ago when I joined, but they gave an option to join within 3 months of renewal date (which is around the open house time) and have your dues count for the following year...basically getting up to 90 days free.

I’m planning on being there as close to opening (8a) that I can. You can get there before then, but that’s what time you can take the first shot.

Really waiting to see if the 100yd rifle range is open. If it is, it might be easiest for us to use the end of that closest to the pistol bays, plus a couple pistol bays. That way everybody could shoot what they wanted. That would also be the best scenario for parking. Wouldn’t need to be there right as opening for that.

If the 100yd isn’t open, yet...we probably need to grab two of the tactical bays, at least for part of the time. We could move down to some pistol bays if anybody wanted to. This plan would encourage me to get there as early as I can so we can have the biggest bay (the first one).

...and I guess we can always return to the range after lunch if anybody needs to. I’m assuming we’re eating north of there, so I’ll be driving right back past it on the way home.

I’m working my 2nd job Thursday evening, so I’ll be getting most everything ready on Wednesday in order to minimize loading time Friday morning.
