I have been lucky, been using amazon for 20 years. Never in all those year’s did I ever really have a problem until this year. Now it seems the last 7 months every order is a crapshoot if I’m gonna get it, have it arrive damage, or get the right thing at all!

case in point, today’s arrival the box was in perfect condition. Not ding or scratch on it. Then we open it to find the #10 can inside crushed.....

really Amazon?

This virus has the workers pissed etc... Send it back. we're paying for it already with prime. Click return and take it to kohls. It won't cost you anything but time. I used to be oh well I'll make it work but nahh not any more I ship that crap back if it isn't 100%. Money is returned in 30 minutes and I'll order something else or it again.

Though I did order some grade 10.9 bolts that must have spilled out of their bags. I got one bag of bolts in another bag, another bag had a mix and one bag plain empty. I couldn't get amazon to do anything with that. Pissed me off

I’d love to figure out how to take my business elsewere, but I think Walmart.com is the other alternative. (to Amazon)

So the cure could be worse than the ill.

Already dropped it off at ups. Good to know about Kohls, thanks for the tip.

I ordered set of four tires, I checked each one for size and any defects, the last tire was wrong size. Ordered an aftermarket USA made rifle GoPro mount, got a DVD in the package, they reshipped the mount, three months later they charge me for the DVD that I returned. Got that removed with a phone call.

I've usually had good luck. Motorcycle tires, clothing, beverages, workout supplements, all good experiences. Only bad one was some fancy liquid soap that the bottle kinda broke open on. They told me not to bother sending it back and quickly sent a replacement.

There's a phone number for Amazon? I had an issue on Monday, looked all over the web site for a number, never found it.

There is a tab that you click and customer service calls you.
Worked very well for me.
Called immediately.

I replied to their email asking me to return the DVD with the details and they called me right away.

I ordered the roll pin started punches I was asking about in another thread, they arrived obviously used and missing one punch. Hit return, they printed out a code to drop it off at UPS, and they shipped me a replacement. The replacement looks to have been used too, but the punches are all in good shape, and they are punches.

When you drop the return at UPS, your refund is credited as soon as they scan it in. Everything is automated now order, picking, shipping, returns, etc. So, crap happens and it's doubtful any human eyes even saw that can before it went out. But, fixing it is fairly fast too.
I will say that the errors have increased in the last few months.

Ordered some paint from Amazon. 2 gallons. Oil based por 15 type stuff nasty stuff. Same story as @SnowRooster not a scratch on the box. But one gallon was empty the pail was beat all to hell, and the contents were in a plastic bag they had wrapped each gallon in to protect from spills I guess. It did it’s job, but got shipped back in the same condition as I received it.

A delivery person stole a set of expensive earphones. The package was ripped on one side. They placed it on the porch with the ripped side down and took the delivery picture. Suckers! I checked the camera and of course...... I'll leave you guessing for political correctness reasons..... I called Amazon customer support and they sent me another set free, with a 2 day delivery.
Also another delivery was never delivered but showed as delivered. They sent a replacement, no questions asked. Another time I got a notification that the item ($140 solar charge controller) was lost in transit. They sent a replacement. 2 days later both boxes show up. I could have kept both but returned one since I only ordered one piece.
Other than that, all orders were delivered in decent shape. Most of the time, they try to package everything well.

I use Amazon Smile and so far I've never had a problem with deliveries or the products inside. I guess I'm lucky. If you use Smile a portion of what they get is donated to a cause. I've picked the A.S.P.C.A. The post office is another story.
