Gun Maker Remington Preps for Bankruptcy, Seeks Sale to Navajo Nation

Actually, Remington made legal products and were sued because their products were used in an illegal way. The BS lawsuits drained the company financially over time. All the good talent saw the handwriting on the wall and left before they moved everything to Alabama. The quality drop was a residual result of this.

In a time when guns sales are at a record high, how bad is the management that they are having to file bankruptcy?

It's like a whore house going broke.

Don't think they'll be making ARs.

CD

I dont think they will make much of anything if they aquire the big green "R"...

The tribe always hires with Navajo preference first. They can't even get enough of their people to work at the Navajo owned casinos, or teach in the Rez schools.

30 years ago, maybe.... but not in these times.

I can’t feel bad for them. They have no “niche” product to use to climb back into the market. Everybody else does it better, or cheaper, or both.

What the market needs is more inexpensive, reliable ammo so I would focus on that first.

Remington was branded as a hunting/sportsman/defense lifestyle brand for many years. Very similar to Harley Davidson's brand. These days Remington and HD are sucking hind tit... their customer base aged, evolved, changed, etc,etc and they kept developing much of the same ole stuff for the same ole customers.

The newer generation( customers) aren't into Harleys near as much as they were 20+ years ago, and Remington's customers are not the same as they were in the 50's-90's when the firearms industry was far less pressured by the political environment.

As a current example, "Jeep" is now being branded as a lifestyle brand. Jeep is kind of like the new " Harley Davidson". Jeep sales are through the roof. I see them everywhere now.

And yet they top the "least reliable" lists pretty consistently. I've never understood form over function.
