Fishing Pics ... post your most recent.

Sweet. I've not done Jacob Fork at all, yet, despite having lived in the area since 2007.

Providence Church Rd downstream is good too. But the take out at Greedy Hwy is pretty much gone. The landowners buried the road in wood debris. Assuming the knuckle heads were trashing the place. I didn't realize that until we took out and it was not a pleasant take out. Need to find something else. And there is is a put in/take out on 127 with a $2 donation to the landowner for using it. That one takes out at Finger Bridge Rd. I have only done CVWC to PC and PC to Greedy though.

Good evening on the lake. Broke off a bigger one, over 4 lbs, right by the dock on the way out. I’m liking this chatterbait!

Wife’s white bass. She’s not much on the in hooking.

Found the rod she lost 2 weeks ago too.
Lauren paddled right up to it. The lake had come down several feet and it was barely under water.

Smallmouth are the best. My favorite fish to catch.

One gave my wife fits. She was hooting and hollering. Lol. I caught one about 14” or so and he got aerobatic and run me around. And I missed a couple that were bruisers. Probably 2-3 pounders. It was a good day.

Try those chatterbaits with a zoom paddle tail shad trailer

I grabbed some Zoom straight split tails, which is what that one took. Ordered some more Rebel wee crayfish crank baits last night and grabbed some double curly tailed trailers too.

Caught this little guy messing around at lake macintosh in Burlington today. Went to test my fish finder out and figured I would drown some night crawlers while there.

The best part was I saw 6 deer while floating in a small cove. One yearling knee deep in the water drinking didn’t even see me approaching.

It stood there long enough for me to take a pic and then took off to find mom.

Found some in about 8’ of water this evening piled up in willows branches in front of a beaver hut

Went down to Cape Lookout last Sunday as my brother came home with his kid and wanted to go fishing. Took him out to the Bight at the Cape and tied up to some old docks. I had what looked to be an 60-80lb black drum lazily moseying around the dock just feet from the boat. I threw the every thing at him and if I had had a few beers of liquid courage would probably have jumped on him for S&G. I hit him in the head several times with live minnows, small gulp, large gulp, small Zman, large Zman, and chugged top water plugs over him. No dice. I remember seeing two black drum this size last year on the flats, one was hit by a boat so I figure it may have been him. It was somewhat shy but seemed to tolerate the boat.

Did see a record number of sea turtles. I lost count at 14.

No catches today but that couldn't matter less. Idk how the pic came out like that, I didnt use any settings or anything.

"No catches" not true, you caught memories that will last a lifetime!

That picture would be on a canvas print if that was my fam! Great pic!! Great on you taking them and teaching them!!

I'm a little late posting, my son and @Bows & Bullets caught these down in Swansboro two weekends ago. And you'll notice there is no picture of me with a fish (I did catch some just not big enough to be seen on camera with). It has been pointed out on numerous occasions by numerous individuals, who caught the bigger fish .

It was pretty awesome! We had a great time! The best thing was being with my better half, @Average Joe and family.

Don’t worry bro... not exactly slaying them myself...

I need to get some of y'all to teach me how to fly fish. I got a set up but can't get it right on my own.

Honestly fly fishing only outshines traditional rod/reels on trout. Gotta be able to get the bait on that fish without spooking it. It’s fun for everything else but there are better rod/reel options for other freshwater fish...

yes sir. Top pic was last Sunday at Hannah’s Creek on the Birkhead Trail. Me and the girl went out this AM to Low Water. It’s only 10 minutes from the house so it’s a go to spot for us. Great eye BTW...

define "long"........ Most beginners try casting beyond their level of skill about 85% of the time and the result is frustration.

30-40’ on a 8.5’ rod. I think I usually fish with too long of a leader and sometimes I’m unsure if I’ve got my line/leader/rod balanced out optimally.

I like taking the family out to low water. They can swim I can fish.
On casting the best advice I can give you is to work in roll casting. Unless you are out on salt water it’s hard to get long distances with just standard casting. I can get a decent cast with limited back cast distance and roll cast it out.
