Still irked about the $50 for CWP to exercise a natural right.
But, well, something was done fast. My CWP expires in August and SLED's website I think reads that it may take up to couple of months to get the renewal done. I sent the request last Monday (6/22) and got the updated CWP today.

Think of it like protection money. You aren't paying to exercise a right - you were gonna do that anyhow. You're paying the enforcers to leave you alone. Is that pill any easier to swallow?

SC does it well. My CWP processed quickly. I used the electronic system. I also just finished my training and will be applying for CWP instructor shortly. Our trainer said SLED was on our side vs. being adversarial.

Lucky you. Here, in Wake, you have to make an appointment. They didn't let you make an appointment up until 45 days before expiration and the earliest date that was available 45 days ahead... is the last day before expiration. And THEN up to 90 days wait time starts. Grrrrr

Dropped off my tax to the king today for a renewal $75, for his majesty's permission for another 5 years.

Mine expires 7/31. Burke County allows you to submit 90 days before renewal, but it takes close to 90 days for renewal. I submitted mine online at the end of March (a few weeks early), and the sheriff was ok with it (due to covid, I guess). Got my renewal 2 weeks ago. I did have to go by and sign an affidavit, allowing them to check mental health records. This was done at my leisure. They only asked that I come by M-F, 9-5. They did list 2 days that I would need to come by before 1pm. No issues otherwise.

Yeah. All that... And they cancelled my appointment twice. Now I'm waiting at almost two months.
