"H652 was placed on the calendar for a veto override vote in the House scheduled for 8 July, 2020."

My senator, deViere, is a (D) and he did vote FOR it originally. I just called his office to leave a message thanking him for that and encouraging him to override the veto.
Then I called my house rep, Szoka (R). I forgot that they're really good about having phones available and the lady caught me with a mouth full of pizza (again). She guaranteed me that Szoka was going to vote to override because he's very pro-2A
Then we talked about some other gun issues, then we talked about how all the covid/riots are causing a major backlog of background checks, then we talked about how she bought her first gun recently (a shotgun since she's most familiar with those), then we talked about how her background check took 3 days. Then I got to tell her about how if it took 3 days, she probably didn't actually get a "pass" in time because 3 business days is the NICS delay limit and the FFL could still sell to her even if her "pass" never came. Then she asked me to send more emails about any other 2A issues I have, because hooray for 2A.
It's nice to feel like a rep's office has your back - I get that a lot from (R) reps, and I get a lot of answering machines from (D)s.
