Peppermint oil, on the temples and a bag of ice on each side of the neck. Those are the only things I've ever had to kill one of my migraines once started.
Its the only thing those snake oil peddlers sell that works.
Migraines suck. Hope she gets to feeling better.
Mine just needed the Big D.
Dog in this case.
My wife is dealing with one right now as well. She broke down and took a special pill and is finally laying down. She complains it makes her neck and head numb and upsets her stomach.
I complain because it gives her HORRIBLE gas.

But, what about the gas?Migraine meds do the same for me...numb the neck and head. It’s a weird, loopy sensation but better than the headache.
...Is that a box of Mike and Ikes floating in a beverage?
LMAO. That appears to be a pack of watermelon gum crammed into an empty glass
I had terrible migraines in my late 20's and early 30's. I couldn't even take a sip of water without immediately throwing up. Lights and noise were almost unbearable. I tried different treatments and doctors and nothing worked. Finally, one of my co-workers suggested seeing a chiropractor. He found that I had 3 vertebrae in my neck that were crushed together and pinching a nerve. It took about 10 visits before he got my neck to loosen up. After seeing him for about 8 weeks, no more migraines. Now, I crack my neck several times a day, and have not had a migraine in over 25 years. It might not work for everyone, but chiropractic adjustments worked for me.
I try to break her back every night. Does that count?
Cold, dark, quiet room is the only thing really that works well for me, I try to only take the meds as a last resort.
They offered me some shots but I try to take as little medicine as I possibly can for everything. So when I feel on starting to come on I get to a nice dark quiet place as quickly as I can and try to sleep it off but I get terrible nausea with mine and that makes it just pure hell for me.My wife has had them since law school. She was diagnosed with glaucoma about a year ago and was on a high dollar eye drop that stopped them all. Then she noticed a black line on her face and changed eye drops and they have come back and eye pressure was up again.
Her biggest trigger is stress after eye pain. The migraine medication causes a imbalance with your ears and eyes causing your stomach to do backflips. That's how our dr says it anyway. When they give a shot version that make her take a shot for the sickness it causes as well.
Dang, I got to get some of that stuff - house could use a good cleaning! My wife gets them on occasion... I’ve had her take a Tylenol with codeine ... I’ve seen her go from lying down ... to cleaning the house in 30 minutes.
My daughter has suffered from migraines for years, except while she was pregnant. Take this information and do with it what you will.
Me too!! Two goody powders and a monster energy drink and I am back up and running.I am sooo lucky that 30 years ago I discovered that a Goody's Powder or Excedrin taken as soon as I see the visual aura will prevent my headaches.
My wife takes a monthly self injection that is a migraine preventative. Sort of like an EpiPen. It's expensive and a shot but it doesn't have the crazy side effects that the last medicine they had her on had. Absent the meds she has 2-3 a week.
I bet that's Imitrex. My wife is dealing with one right now as well. She broke down and took a special pill and is finally laying down. She complains it makes her neck and head numb and upsets her stomach.

Prayers sent for wifey!
Makes my shoulders tighten up to the point of a tension headache, ironically. Does the same to my wife. Another well known migraine med, Maxalt was once offered to my wife in the form of those melt on your tongue films. Reading the label I saw it had aspartame (NutraSweet) as an ingredient, a known migraine trigger and one to which my wife was sensitive! We called the company to inform them.100% that's it.
