Well, there's a DOD directive out mandating the wearing of face masks anywhere you cannot maintain a social distance of 6 feet. This applies to DOD civilians as well.
Basically, follow the CDC guidance on cloth face masks to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
My Division Head put this out and has even made it a creative competition with our code at work.
So I looked at my current ball cap, which is cloth and says "THE BEST MARINE IS A SUBMARINE" on the front and "SUBMARINE VETERAN" on the back and said "hmmm...I have a spare...".
So I cut the stitching to remove the bill on my spare ball cap and hand stitched the seam back together. Cut about a 3 inch piece of 0.064 diameter lockwire and curled the ends into loops to eliminate the pointy ends. Then I folded the back of the cap in and stitched this inside the fold at the top so I could bend it across the bridge of my nose.
Then I got some paracord and stitched that onto the sides so I could tie it on over my mouth and nose.
It's easy to insert additional cloth layers for comfort and added protection if necessary.
Here's my ball cap as as "before" and some completed pictures afterwards.
