Trade 2018 Nissan Titan for 2021 Ford F250

I just cleaned out my truck... Tomorrow afternoon, I'm going to look at a 2021 F250 XLT Crew Cab Tremor.

They already gave me a quote with a good price, below MSRP. They low balled me, on my trade in, which I expected. But, they said they'll give me more money for my trade, to make a deal, when I come in tomorrow.

I'll update you all tomorrow.

As many others have mentioned I would be patient and see what private party deals pop up. Used vehicle prices are pretty high.

I was in your same boat a few years ago. I had a 1/2 ton pickup but I really needed a 3/4 ton time to time for work. Ultimately, I gave up looking because I thought prices were too high.

Back in August I picked up a 2014 Ram 2500 with the Cummins for right at 20k. When I purchased the truck it had right at 120k miles. The truck is 4wd and is the Tradesman package- perfect for my needs. I found it in a 4x4 forum that I also frequent.

I’m from a small town and we have a local dealer that will buy what you are looking for at the auto auctions and charge you $500 over the winning bid. PreCovid he would even take you to the auction to inspect the models you were interested in. If I hadn’t found my deal I was going to go that route.

Time is on your side. Be patient and the right deal will come along.

I asked my dad's opinion, he said go for it.

I asked my wife's opinion, she said go for it.

That's honestly enough for me...
You got the Mrs approval....go to the Ford dealership right now before she changes her mind!
Seriously..stop reading my reply..Go go go.

DirtySCREW is a F150 and I love her!
Get the 5.0!!!!!!!!!
You'll thank me later.

I just spent 30min on the phone with sales manager at the dealership. They agreed to give me an extra $1500 on my trade in. The deal is locked in...

2021 F250 xlt tremor with the 7.3 gas engine... Factory lift kit, 35 inch mud tires...

MSRP was $58,500
They came down to $56,000
They are giving me $28,000 for my used truck

Might not be the best deal in the world, but I'm happy with it.

Going to pick it up this afternoon...

For work I drive a 2012 F-350 4x4 with a lot of equipment in the back and a heavy winch up front. With me in the driver seat, it weights 11,800 lbs. It has the 6.2L gasser and the 6 speed auto.

Even hauling all that weight, its plenty quick from a stop light, and it doesn't struggle getting up to interstate speeds.

Just what are ya'll expecting from a *truck*?

Thanks Larry! I was afraid you were going to come back and call me an idiot. Haha!
Where are the new truck obligatory BURNOUT pics. That 250 has the power to roast em.

Congrats on your new truck.

I haven't picked it up yet...

I've never been a big fan of burning rubber.

I generally try to keep it on the tire for as long as possible.

I hope there are pics to come when you get it picked up. I wouldn’t mind a report on how that 7.3 is. I may be looking for a 3/4 ton truck in a few years and will be in a similar situation you are in.

I got it!

It was a drive, both ways, but I'm home now. The truck is awesome. It's got so many buttons, toggle switches, and screens. I need to read the owners manual to find out what half the buttons do.

That 7.3l engine is strong and peppy. But, the gas mileage is gonna be horrible. Haha.

Driving home on the interstate, I had the cruise set to 65mph, and the dash said I was averaging 9.5mpg... I hope that number starts going up some day...20210119_164915.jpg20210119_164902.jpg

Downhill with a tailwind aught to bring those numbers up :)

Slow it down to 45mph and you might see 15mpg.
Maybe that's why all the old people are always going 45 on the back roads near my house... They have found the key to better gas mileage!

7.3L, lift, 35s....probably needs to be regeared and a programmer put on it to get better mpgs

I tried to tell him to get the 4.30 gears. Not sure if the tremor package includes that or not.
I just checked. Per the window sticker, mine has 7.3 gas and 4.3 gears.

I also searched online and found a Ford forum with several guys saying that the 7.3 with tremor can only come with 4.3 from the factory.

I have good news...

I just made my usual, almost daily, drive into town. As soon as I cranked up, I reset the "average mpg computer".

I drove 14 miles rounds trip, and I stayed under 60mph. I hit several red lights and stop signs.

When I got home, my average mpg was 13.5...

That's a heck of a lot better than 9.5mpg from yesterday. I betcha the 9.5mpg came from people test driving and goosing it to feel the power...

Based on the reviews I had watched for that truck I would have expected about 14 mpg, so you're right on IMO.

I looked at DirtySCREW today, she has 21,6xx miles and has 17.8MPG for the life of that 21k miles.
5.0 V8
3.55 rear end
Stock 20" wheels/tires

Not too shabby. I've gotten 22mpg on highway...11/12 mpg when I pulled my boat i use to have. Its all how you drive....keep her in 6th gear (or 10th if you have the 10 speed) as much as possible. Even taking a longer route can yield better mpg if you can avoid the start/stop.

Gorgeous truck by the way!

You know it... Any recalls, anything breaks, etc, CFF will be the first to hear about it. Hahaha.
I wish Ford would come back with the 7.3L DIESEL!!!!
Ask @jjwestbrook .....lol awesome engine!

I hope your 7.3L gas gives you great life and power. Everything I've read and videos I've watch...they love it!!

Since 2017 we've had 4 F-150s all with 5.0s with 10 speeds and 3:73 in 2 and 3:31 in 2. All 4 were from 19-23 mpg trucks. The one she just got is a month old and averaging 19.
I'm wishing for a short bed, short cab 7.3 with 4:30s and a 10 speed all together in an F-150....I really hope they make this available!!!
