My lovely wife and I were in an accident. It was road pitch and wet that caused it. The turn was to the right and it pitched me left I leaned more but still ran in the ditch. My wife was tossed off first bike went nose down I was bucked off the front. At some point my helmet was ripped off. Wife found me in the ditch passed out gasping for air.
We both spent a day plus in the hospital I have 7 fractured vertebrae and a fracture to my upper sternum....she has a fracture in her left leg. She can go back to work in a few days I'm going to have to apply for temp disability so I'm taking a big cut.

Our oldest daughter started a gofund me for our medical expenses and to help after that (my CT scans alone are an estimated 10-15k). I appreciate the well wishes and thoughts.

Sorry this has happened, but glad it ain't worse than it already is.

Good lord. Not what I wanted to wake up to this morning.

I hope your recovery is quick and smooth.

Prayers up for quick recovery by you and your wife.

Im so glad youre alive, that sounds like a horrible accident.
Im glad yall made it through

Sorry to hear this. Those are some serious injuries. Hope you are not in great pain. Wishing you the best in your recovery.

Jeez. Thoughts and prayers, did do a bit on the go fund me.

Super glad it wasn't worse. How are you doing and recovering?

Glad you had your helmets on ! I pray your injuries heal quickly. Worse damage to the bike than I expected ,dang.

I went down years ago my GSXR vs a dog and I couldn't believe the scratches and deep scraps all over my Simpson Bandit helmet. Thats why I will never need anyone to tell me to wear a helmet, I WILL HAVE IT ON.

Geico is paying the bike off so that is AWSOME but my scans alone are well over 15K. Insurance is taking care of my wife's medical but mine is solely up to me. I have the least amount of coverage due to the fact that I don't go to the doc or have recurring health issues.

Is work gonna help out with any?

They "helped" me by emailing me the temp disability form. I did get a few texts from one coworker...the equipment manager I work with day to day has called to see how I'm doing and the manager that hired me has called also but nothing about helping in anyway.

More great news!
Short term disability was approved but they can't do math HAHAHAHA
60% of 1280 to them is 540....hopefully we can get that fixed this week.
Wife is doing good with just a boot so looks like no cast for her. I follow up with my neurologist on Friday so hopefully they can tell me how long I'll be in the neck brace. Went to see our doctor about my right shoulder (can't move my upper arm with shoulder muscles) he thinks physically therapy will help.

Three week update:
Temporary disability has there #s correct now!
Neuro Surgeon did scans today everything is healing like they want no variations in gap/separation etc. will follow up again in four weeks and if my neck is stable enough I'll be out of the brace!
Referred to orthopedic surgery for my shoulder (possible torn rotator cuff) neurologist wanted me to wait four weeks to "see if it's better" laughed in her face and said well if I need surgery on my rotator cuff it needs to happen now vs in four weeks to put me down for another 6 plus weeks....she reluctantly agreed. So hopefully ortho finds just damage/trauma related to my neck/skull fracture.
Started putting some feelers out for a career change and that looks promising just a temp salary set back....starting off an est loss of 40k a year but much better hours and can work from home.

Was referred to orthopedics for my shoulder.. torn rotator cuff.
Can't have surgery until neurologist clears me so looking like Dec for surgery then a 3-6 month recovery 🙃. I'll be out of the wrench turning world for quite a bit if not permanently.
