Recycling Center here in pilot mountain said she will sell ww and sheet lead to the public. Can get the price if anybody is interested. I don't remember the exact price but seemed reasonable to me when she told me.

Seems like she said .60 for sheet and .35 for ww. But I'll stop and ask Tuesday

Nope they are all lead ww. They have separate bins for zinc and lead.

Yeah I'd drive it. Depending on who all wants some. Split the fuel bill. I can put at least 1500 pounds on the truck

I've been meaning to stop in there and ask, never looks open. A week day trip may be in order. Thanks.

Here's the thing - I have a handful of vendors on Castboolits and FB groups that are selling clean lead ingots in various alloys for near $1 a pound, shipped to my door. It's almost not worth me collecting and smelting my own lead and having to deal with large amounts of dross and metal clips, and paying for propane.

If a man was getting lead for free, he could make a SMALL amount of money selling lead. But today it's still a buyers market. Even at $0.33 a lb for COWW lead, you lose a lot to steel and zinc being sorted out, metal clips, time, and the cost of energy.

Is this the place across the street from the BP station at the foot of Pilot Mt on Hwy52 north?

No. That's pinnacle. It's right beside the high school in pilot mountain. East surry high school
