Shot three yesterday and one so far today . Took a break to eat a bite now goin back and try to shoot some more . Oh yeah , these hogs dig holes in the ground .
Hope you find some to hunt . 22 magnum to the head anchors them quite well .Sounds fun. I've wanted to hog hunt for a while but none around here yet that I know of.
About an hour west of Charlotte .What part of the state?
I hope y’all know I’m talkin bout ground hogs .
I was wondering when you said you used 22 Mags for head shots.I hope y’all know I’m talkin bout ground hogs .

Once you shoot a couple and look at em up close the cute part goes away . Make sure they are dead before you pick one up .This thread has actually been helpful. To make a long story short, the owner of the property we rent gave me go-ahead to shoot a groundhog. Now, I've shot a skunk on the grounds (using a 20-gauge with #2 birdshot), but I still tend to think of ground hogs as, well, cute and furry! Reading this thread might steel me to do my duty -- if the little rodent will only cooperate and hang around in the back where I take a legit shot.
