Which super cheap flip up sights have you ordered. Looking for some for some range toys.

Are the $200 dollar ones that much better than some cheap $20 ones?

These are pcc’s and pistols that don’t have any sights at all. Extras stribog etc

Don’t really want to put red dots on them…

I mean....eh, cheapest I would ever go is the polymer Magpul BUIS. - IMO, you're better off getting good used ones. I've seen Scalarworks fixed pairs go for sub $125. Midwest Industries flip up combat sights for $100. IMO, sights, especially without an optic, need to be quality. You don't need to buy them brand new.

That said, I have never been a "range toy" guy.

@JBoyette is that rear sight the right height to pair it with a F marked FSB?

$59 https://tippmannarms.com/flip-up-sights/

These are sorta Magpul clones, polymer, but they adjust with knobs and also have a feature where they can be used in the retracted position.
These come stock with the Tippmann M4-22.

IMHO, unless you are putting this choice on multiple rifles, just buy quality and be done.

The extra $100 savings is lost a week later and you are left with a compromise in quality.

I’m a man of modest means and I can 100% say buy once and cry once is the by far the best decision making for this.

What are sights and how does one use them? 🤤

They are mostly a cosmetic addition…or can be used to poke someone in the eye in close quarters combat

Then I recommend ones that are pointy! #HKstyle but be careful don't poke your own eye out.

Magpul plastic are OK.
Yes they are better for metal over plastic and yes the better ones cost more.

You may not need the quality of the 200$ set but always nice to have them.
I like running both metal fixed and flip for compact on pistols.
Use the flips as the only and main sights, just for compact and better built.

Sorry bout that - all I can offer so far is 'looked good when I opened the package'
I put them in with the rest of a build kit and haven't got around to putting it together. Soon... I hope soon.

With the prices of sig Romeo 5's lately I'd be throwing those on range toys instead of irons 🤷

I bought some Flip Up sights (Ozark brand) for less than $30 on sale on Amazon, going to the range tomorrow to zero them. Mounting went fine, will give a longer term report after some shooting, however I can say the machining is noticeably rougher on my cheap Amazon sights than the Sport Ridge sights in the video above.

Opted to use laser boresight instead, windage is ok but elevation is low, tried the bullet trick to adjust the front sight but wasn't successful so ordered a front sight adjuster.
Should get the tool this Sunday.

I have used expensive Troy BUIS and less-expensive (still not cheap) Magpul MBUS. Although the MBUS did not have the feel and satisfying "click" sound/feel when opening, they are fairly robust and feature spring-loaded deployment, and can also be pushed back down without having to push a button. I like them and would buy again, but they are probably the cheapest sight of this type I would consider using.

I definitely made the right choice buying sub $20 sights. They are functioning exactly as intended still in the box never put on the rifles which remain unfired.

I’m sure that the hundred dollar sights would’ve sit in the box better but I’m happy with mine

Got the front sight adjuster and.... the elevation of the front sight is too low throughout the range of adjustment (Most reviews on Amazon were positive but did see some reviews that indicated they ran into the same problem).
I rate the Ozark flip up sights as junk, or at least the ones I received, luckily they are within the return window.

Tacticon offsets also come in handy, from time to time … (make your first purchase a minor buy as, after first purchase future purchases are 20% off!)
