sigh, does this mean i need to buy that .410 upper sooner rather than later?
why it gotta be a wingmaster, richy rich?If a wood and blued 870 Wingmaster pump gun was used how can they play the “assault weapon” card when it wasn’t an evil black gun of some type?
Just sayin’ a real American hunting shotgun that has sold millions and more Dads and Grandpas owned than any other. If it was a cheap import then we got “Saturday Night Special” shotguns. At least I didn’t good with a Citori or such .why it gotta be a wingmaster, richy rich?
why not a sub $200 12ga out of mexico, turkey, or china?
Suppose he took the keys to a pickup truck and drove it into the soccer field during a game? Could have killed many folks as they are all fenced in. Will they want to ban pickup trucks?
Is there anything wrong with that? How manipulated have we become that we’re secretly rooting for a specific type of weapon versus another?
It’s very damn real. My step son witnessed it and he wouldn’t lie. One of the reasons he got out.Yeah, that's not even close to reality but by all means you do you.
No, in actuality, there’s not, and that is a sad state of affairs. That the means of killing trumps someone’s death is just plain sad.Is there anything wrong with that?
Agreed.None of us here are rooting for a mass shooting.
small victories against the gun grabber / tyrant agenda, though you’re right.Given that one happened though I don't see what's wrong with hoping it's a weapon that goes against the gun control narrative.
Sadly most cops would be pretty easy prey to just an average shooter. My step son before he left the sheriffs dept told me that about half the cops he worked with only shot their guns once a year to qualify. Many had not unholstered their gun for a year. Always a few that failed.
There are many cops that shoot very well and are interested in becoming better. I personally know quite a few. The type of guys you want coming when you dial 911. Some on this forum.
My dad was a cop for many years and a shooting competitor as well.
At a match this last weekend, I shoot with an experienced cop, who happens to be an excellent and respected competition shooter from VA. We discussed this very thing. He has a passion for shooting and helping others to shoot better.
He said he has an open invitation to anybody in his department, and every cop he knows, to come to the range with him anytime to improve their shooting.
But (his words) "They have zero interest. They think the gun is a magic talisman and they are "good enough" even though they really aren't". While shaking his head in confusion.
My dad said same thing many times, in different words. Every cop I know that shoots well has said some variation of this. I think what you are saying at half (50%) is actually very generous and in fact that number is probably closer to 80-90%. Although they likely unholster their gun and shoot a box of ammo now and then. But that's not enough to be a competent shooter. Just my opinion.
"Angry" guy isn't for you, it's for the people who lack the interest or desire to get better when they have the opportunity.
I don't shoot nearly enough, and now my life circumstances have me in a place where it is challenging to get out to shoot. I'd love to shoot more, and to get better.
I also know cops who do the annual qual and that is it. In the military it's the same but a but different. A lot of MOSs are non-shooters and they shoot once a year to qual, then it's back to the Remington typewriter (or whatever), and they just don't see any connection.
You're likely right. LONG GUN is more scary than "traditional hunting shotgun" and requires a lot less explaining than "short barreled shotgun/rifle"
How manipulated have we become that we’re secretly rooting for a specific type of weapon versus another?
Everybody can know one. Or even know a few.Acquaintance of mine is a retired Raleigh PD cop. He shoots well; has a range with lots of plates and targets.
Has given me some pointers to improve my skills.
Don't broad-brush all cops.
I once took the qualification test during a class. Granted it was with the CO2 pistols, which don’t have the bang or recoil of real guns, but I had also recently had surgery that made the going from standing to kneeling, to prone and back to standing a bit rough. In any case, I got the second highest score on record.Turned the Lazer off and did pretty good. Asked him how was that when I was done and he said you just shot better than 75 % of people in law enforcement.

And the taxpayers will end up paying for his health care for the next 50 or 60 years! Just go ahead and unplug his ass now.Possible bovine caca but a couple hospital staffers have possibly been talking to family/friends who have talked to other people. The shooter’s head injury (major damage with brain trauma) is so severe he may survive but if he does he won’t be doing much without serious problems … and those things might not be without major help.
He tried to suck start the 12 gauge but it was too long - instead chin nose forehead top of head took the brunt.Possible bovine caca but a couple hospital staffers have possibly been talking to family/friends who have talked to other people. I am truly sorry to hear about your attack, but I'm sure you don't want my sympathy. I just find it ironic that someone who was the victim of gun violence perpetrated by someone who was not legally allowed to possess a firearm doesn't want stricter rules in place in order to minimize that from happening again. I never once stated that I want more laws on YOUR freedom. If you are a law-abiding citizen with no criminal record nor mental health issue, then drape your entire body with firearms. Go nuts!If anybody has a right to respond, I do-
I HAVE BEEN THE VICTIM OF A VIOLENT FELON
THE FELON WAS CARRYING A FIREARM DESPITE PRIOR CONVICTIONS
I WAS SHOT BY THE FELON WHO WAS INTENT ON DEPRIVING ME OF MY LIFE, LIBERTY AND HAPPINESS
I AM CARRYING A PERMANENT DISABILITY AND LIVE WITH IT EACH AND EVERY DAY
The perp was caught, tried, convicted and sentenced to 40 years WITHOUT parole. He served 15.
And now YOU want MORE laws, rules and regulations on MY FREEDOM?!?!?!? Yeah, you're a liberal, no brain troll alright.
So you've never heard of M.A.D.D., S.A.D.D, Teens Against Drunk Driving? How about sobriety checkpoints, ignition locks and folks losing their licenses for DUI convictions? Anti-drunk driving initiatives have been around for years-- where have you been?Where is all the hand wringing, gnashing of teeth, sign waving, and demands for getting drunk drivers off the streets, from all of you gun grabbing self righteous people? Alcohol related deaths are twice what gun homicides are but I don't see any of you people making the same demands about alcohol as you do guns.
Bottom line, when your people start making the same demands for drunk driving as you do gun control, I might start paying attention to your "cause ". Bunch a dang hypocrits.
Or how about stricter laws targeting the person who provided this perpetrator with a firearm and closing loopholes?"I just find it ironic that someone who was the victim of gun violence perpetrated by someone who was not legally allowed to possess a firearm doesn't want stricter rules in place "
The irony is strong with this one.
"If only we had TWO rules that the perpetrator would have had to violate, this could have all been avoided"
Not according to some in this forum. On another thread, one yocal once said, "we're right behind you", when someone asked where all the well-regulated militias are these days. Not my words. The militia left Raleigh years ago.
Remember that they group the gangsters as children.....
CDC death records for people ages 1-19 in 2020 showed that firearms killed more children and adolescents than car accidents for the first time, as was the case in 2021. .......
Loopholes?Or how about stricter laws targeting the person who provided this perpetrator with a firearm and closing loopholes?
I have never claimed to be part of a militia, nor do I believe there is a need, nor a mandate for one. No one is "supposed to be part of" anything. (My freedoms, remember? Or does that only apply to gun ownership?) It's neither my job nor my duty to go take down bad guys in other parts of the county. I will defend my home and my family, however, if required to do so.Hmmm...soooo...where were YOU when this was going down? I mean, every able bodied citizen is supposed to be part of the "militia" you speak of, correct? Apparently you are sadly deficient in your own ability to "tak[e] this bad guy down".
If more people actually faced the reality that there ARE people out there who are flat-out killers (call them psychopaths, evil, sick, or what have you) who are quite content to deliberately deliver violent harm to others and owned up to the fact that there is noone else in a position to deliver immediate aid and defense then themselves, then a lot of this stuff would resolve itself.
You go off on "all the good guys with guns" not being around to "tak[e] this bad guy down", and yet you blithely ignore the fact that the "thin blue line" themselves, in the form of police officers, WERE NOT THERE EITHER TO PREVENT OR STOP THIS GUY. They, in fact, show up AFTER THE FACT when the common citizen has already had to suffer at the hands of people like this idiot.
And it seems that the ONLY response that people like you are capable of rendering is an ever-increasing litany of "common sense gun control" laws that further restrict the ability of the common citizen to provide that immediate aid and defense of themselves.
Either step up...or sit down. But don't presume to denigrate those of us who truly value the lives of the people who are made to suffer because the actions of people like you insist that they must.
#stricterlawsLoopholes?
Woman in NY State straw purchased a rifle for her male friend, a convicted felon, he set his house on fire and murdered two firemen who responded. She got two years in prison.
Imagine watching five innocent neighbors being the victim of gun violence and not wanting to make any changes to current gun law.Imagine loading up that one firearms forum you occasionally troll after a mass shooting just so you can grandstand on the graves of innocent people who died in a tragic manner. Actually using 5 people dying as the launching point for trolling people of a different political opinion.
Gonna leave this right here for you to bask in, color-coded and all:Cover of this week's uber-progressive Triangle newspaper The Independent, superimposed on a pic of what looks to be a 223/5.56 cartridge:
"WE KNOW WHY
What motivated a 15-year-old to shoot his brother and four neighbors in a quiet suburban community doesn't matter.
It happened because he had a gun."
Worth a quick read for some (not terribly surprising) insight into the logic of anti gunners:

Author of course never takes the next step to wonder why there aren't more shootings per capita in places with higher gun ownership per capita.
"Won't hang around" = "Has a life outside of this echo chamber"Drive by trolling
@Joe. Makes ludicrous statements, but won't hang around to defend his point of view.
Waste of air IMHO
