Happy to be here
I have my 22/45 MK IV setup with an RMR that is mounted to the picatinny rail that came with the gun. The problem (albeit not a big one) is that it sits up very high on the gun. So I was researching different options, and came across the outer impact mount. This would lower the optic a good bit, but I don't know if it is worth it considering the cost of the mount (~$45) and that I used red loctite (I know, I know, I should have used blue) on the rail screws because they kept backing out. So what would you do? Is the small decrease in optic height worth attempting to heat the receiver and removing the screws? Has anyone had any experience removing red loctite screws in aluminum receivers?
