How about a Super 38? I think they are still being made.I’d really like to add a 1911 back to the stable. That’s right, they are all gone. Except for a double stack.
But a busted up right wrist just doesn’t want to tolerate .45acp any more, and I’m not buying another one in 9mm. Ever.
And somebody, anybody, please remind me I said that, whenever necessary.
It has indeed crossed my mind. But only fleetingly. How about a Super 38? I think they are still being made.
My brother gave me an old Series 70 Colt in Super 38 last spring. It runs like a top and is pleasant to shoot. I load it down somewhat, but even the factory rounds I have for it are not bad. Finding ammo may be not as easy as it is for 9mm.It has indeed crossed my mind. But only fleetingly.
Because I know so very little about it.
How would you compare the recoil impulse to 230 grain ball 45?My brother gave me an old Series 70 Colt in Super 38 last spring. It runs like a top and is pleasant to shoot. I have shot mainly my loads, and they are more like a 9mm than a 45 Auto. I know they talk about it being similar to a 357 Magnum, but I have not loaded them that hot. The two boxes of factory ammo I have bought also did not seem to cause as much recoil as a 45 Auto. How would you compare the recoil impulse to 230 grain ball 45?
I picked up a P229 10-15 years ago with less than 20 rounds through it for a deal. The street value dropped almost in half within a few years. Some classic DA/SA semi auto - Sig P226/229 / 220

Wow! The SS MK pistols have nearly doubled in price since I last looked.A stainless Ruger MKIV Hunter with the long barrel and the wood grips.
Buy a .45 and start reloading, .45 loaded to IDPA power factor is very pleasant to shoot.I’d really like to add a 1911 back to the stable. That’s right, they are all gone. Except for a double stack.

Have you picked up their LW commander in 45 yet?...wishin' Tisas made a LW Commander in 38 Super.
I’ve never really been able to wrap my head around guns as a real investment…
If you need 1million in the bank to retire. You’d need a thousand guns if they averaged to 1K each.
Who the heck has time to sell a thousand guns! Or even a hundred if you have guns worth 10K each.
If you retired at 60 and lived to be 80 you’d need need 240 guns to sell one a month for extra scratch. plus you’d have to be patient to get top dollar…
I guess that’s why I just shot everything I’ve owned and not cared about devaluation
Hey, I remember snickering at “those guys” who bought a couple CRATES of $99 Mosins along with a dozen or so $50 cases of surplus ammo 15 or so years back … who’s laughing now? It ain’t me …When Wall Street opens Monday, I’m gonna cash out my 401k and put it all into these. Depending on how the market opens, I should be able to buy at least 6 or 8. 🤓
