Pictures you took today

I found this one on the side of an oak tree yesterday and put it in a jar to watch it make a cocoon, which it has already started. Luna moth caterpillar. It's about 4" long when stretched and the spots on the side sparkle like copper in the sun.

Update: I checked on the caterpillar a few minutes ago and it has already spun it's cocoon. Read that the moth only lives for 7-10 days after it hatches out and it does not eat, it's mouth is not even functional.

Posted this back in October and it hatched out today, after almost 4 months. I thought it was a Luna moth caterpillar but it turned out to be a Polyphemus moth. I'll turn it loose tomorrow to see if it can find a mate before it dies.

You really going to be tossing a frog bait? Seems early for that, or have I missed something my whole life?

That looks like a pre-tourney prep night. Must be a serious outing.
I ended up swapping the frog for something else. It’s a good time if the conditions are right. They were not this morning plus we didn’t fish any trees or vegetation. If it starts raining, I’ll tie one on fast. Mainly threw a spinnerbait, crankbait and shaky head today.

Alright, here goes from today and yesterday. Will likely break up in multiple posts and explain some stuff.

First.
Went to Virginia Beach to meet my buddy for a show.
I had no idea there was an Air Force base nearby. Just kept hearing something loud and steady, was confusing.

Then I looked up just the right time.

Later, while walking to get lunch I saw another I had the chance to take a pic of. Ultimately, there would be MANY chances, they just kept coming in and taking off again, I guess.

Today, on the way out, I spotted a Navy Yard?

So why go to Va Beach? My first time, I was going for a show.

Many Eyes was the opener - same singer as Every Time I Die (which none of you will know except @DCGallim )
Next was Rival Schools - this was a hardcore supergroup...that didnt play hardcore, just pop rock. Guys from Youth of Today, Gorilla Biscuits, Quicksand, CIV.
And what I was most excited about - THURSDAY.

Many Eyes had a bass player that might be the reincarnation of Cliff Barton from Metallica

Rival Schools was really good!
Legitimately, the singer looked so stoked. Just smiling constantly and bouncing around having fun

Thursday killed it.
I freaking loved it.

I took this video from one of their encore songs

Not the entire song, but about 2.5 minutes of it, most of it. Was getting more rowdy behind me, i needed to put phone away

On the way home I reset my mpg - highest Ive ever seen. Was about 8 higher than my trip up when I was really pushing the speeds, I just cruised on home today

On 58 in Virginia, saw this and thought it was just a beautiful sight

Oh, and there was a little pizza place next to hotel, we went there late last night for a slice - pretty good.
Anyway, they had a quarter pipe in the parking lot. Weird and cool.

Saw the same on the way home from fishing at Lake Norman. What a beautiful sight!!! We even saw the end of both

Really cool thing is this song was playing on the radio at the same time. God reminding us of his promise and that he still loves us

“This is our God, this is who He is
He loves us
This is our God, this is what He does
He saves us
He bore the cross, beat the grave
Let Heaven and Earth proclaim
This is our God, King Jesus“

I posted a pic of a g17 holster I did back in November that went in a christmas care package to Lithuania. It was a gift for a military/police officer over there who helps my dad's church group when they go there on mission trips. I received a kinda odd gift back and my dad brought it to me yesterday. The guy sent me a Lithuanian dry food ration pack.20240224_125659.jpgcontents are Stewed pork with barley, almonds, black currant jam, lemon drink and instant broth. I'm not planning on eating it just gonna keep it as is. Unless I get really hungry 🤣 this isn't first time I've worked for food but it's first time I've worked for Lithuania mre
