I've been known to "rescue" a few Marlin, Model 60 rifles. I've managed to accumulate a half dozen more of them lately. Two of them had Tasco Pronghorn scopes on them. I've read, many times, that these scopes were junk and that most folks just discarded them. Well, I beg to differ concerning these two Tascos.
They are both 4x32s and they were made in China. Scope #1 is 12" long and is marked 194 09, Scope #2 is 11 1/4" long and is marked JS 95 08. Scope #2, according to the nicks in the paint, has led a harder life than scope #1. The turret covers especially.
What I want to share is that both scopes do everything that my Nikons, Weaver and Redfield have done. Neither of the Tascos are super clear, but they are clear enough. They were easy to zero and seem to be holding their zeros. Am I lucky, or what?
