Ok took the SKS out to shoot it would light strike about every other time and would not eject spent casing. I took it home took it apart cleaned it put it back together it now fires every time but still will not eject spent casing. Any info would greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Is the gas valve in the correct position? It should be all the way to the right if my memory serves. Straight up is the setting for grenades, which I don't believe you're shooting :p

As stated above check the gas valve position. If that is not the issue the gas valves in the Yugo SKS are known to rust if corrosive ammo was used in the rifle, or the value get excess carbon buildup. Take it out and inspect it, and clean it. Stainless steel replacements are available if needed.

I had an issue with one of my Yugos - the gas valve was in the correct position (or so I thought) but had not "clicked" and locked in fully.

Pull it down, clean it, give the contact points some oil, make sure the gas port isn't blocked and be sure it's locked into position.

Yugo's did have a grenade gas cut off. Make sure the gas setting is set correctly. Gas piston should be chromed lined but you may want to clean the gas tube it rides in. Flip the lever and remove gas tube (same as an AK).

If it happens with the switch in the shooting position it means the valve has worn out, fortunately replacements are available. Sounds like yours just wasn't latched.

Yes it wasn't latched just unfamiliar with yugos never had one with a grenade launcher. It's one of the ones cherrys gun imported. It's like new condition that's why I was confused but I'm used to my norincos lol

I love a good SKS but they're the same price as ARs these days.
