A couple of different threads have noted that many gun channels on Youtube have received "strikes" (as in 3 strikes, your account gets terminated). It's not just gun channels, it's lots of conservative channels.

What's happened is Google (Youtube's owner) has a Trusted Flaggers (TF) program where they outsource the flagging to a bunch of groups. We don't know who all the groups are, but we know the SPLC and ADL are among them. Based on that, I would guess the TF participants are mostly leftists. Now why would Google bring known leftist organizations into their TF program? Because Youtube is run by liberals. In fact, there is a very far left streak at Google - see the James Damore scandal (thread here).

Here's an article on Youtube censorship: YouTube Secretly Using SPLC To Police Videos

So the situation is that those of us who use Youtube are playing on the left's turf, and we are at the mercy of their censorship (see the repressive and brutal history of Marxism for what constitutes mercy for Marxists). We need to find alternative video platforms where conservatives can share ideas freely without Marxists deciding it's "hate speech" and shutting it down.

I've been looking around and the best one I've found so far is BitChute: https://www.bitchute.com/
It uses peer-to-peer technology to decentralize, which lowers their costs. So you sometimes have to wait for videos to load. There's also some white supremacist content on there - fair warning; perhaps not surprising given that they were the first to be chased off Youtube (but if BitChute catches on, they'll become a tiny minority of the content; no censorship means just that - if you don't like something, don't watch it; or even better yet, refute it with reason, logic and evidence!). But it's not like Youtube doesn't have black supremacist content, not to mention endless amounts of disparaging of the West.

But post up if you've found others.

Is Full30 still considered a good site for firearm related videos?

Maybe not always firearms related, but a lot of videos I watch mention Patreon. I haven't been there and at the moment, don't know what it's about.

Patreon (derived from the word "patron") is a way for people to support those producing content they like. I don't think Patreon is the primary way the content creator distributes his content, it's just the intermediary between the content creator and his/her "patrons".

Problem is that Patreon also has a strong leftist influence, so some people producing content containing whatever Patreon deems "hate speech" have been banned from Patreon. So a lot of those content creators went to Hatreon, which was founded by Cody Wilson (the guy who started Defense Distributed - 3d printed guns, the Ghost Gunner 3D printer), and serves a similar function as Patreon.

While the left, the big tech/social media companies, the SPLC, the ADL, etc., have it encoded in their Marxist thought patterns to suppress anything that contradicts their ideology, what they don't understand is they make the opposition stronger. They produced the Trump phenomenon. And if they keep doing what they are doing, they will produce what they love to accuse Trump of being.

Patreon is a site where you donate a set amount (your choosing) each month to an artist.
That's it, really.
Not set up for youtube-like site, just to donate so you can support a person who is a maker, musician, creator etc

Gotcha.

Thanks!

Thanks!

I posted a thread about Laura Kampf a bit back, I noticed she kept referencing it so I looked into it.
Some folks on there are getting 90k from donations...PER MONTH. Insane.

The channels I was referencing weren't even gun channels, but homesteading channels, then straight up conservative channels.

gab.ai/tv

Free speech. Great concept.
I wasn't aware that Gab has a video platform; that's great. I'd love to see them get their Twitter-like messaging app back in the Apple and Google app stores, but of course the leftist censors at those firms won't permit it.

Here's another alt-media platform: https://www.minds.com/

What the springing up of these alt-media platforms demonstrates is that there is a signal here that people want to hear, and you can't stop the signal - at least not until you start throwing lots of people into gulags (but that is not so easy a task in a country with an armed citizenry, especially when the people you want in gulags are the people who tend be well-armed). What the repressive left fails to understand (as many in control of culture before them have also failed to understand) is that pushing discussions underground/out-of-the-mainstream doesn't make those discussions go away. In fact, the very act of repression serves to reinforce those who reject the left's narrative.

It will be interesting to see if places like Youtube and Twitter lose eyeballs (their source of monetization via ad revenue) and at what point the CEO/Board of Directors/shareholders decide that political correctness isn't worth the loss of revenue as well as fueling the growth of competition.

Seriously?! Wow, not that I was a huge fan of his but there you go, tyranny in action.
His schtick grates on my nerves. I watch Bracken when he's on InfoWars, but not much else. Paul Joseph Watson makes some great videos; I assume all those get axed, too.

It's been an full court press by the leftists to de-platform content they don't like. Reddit has banned r/gundeals. A number of smaller gun deal oriented subreddits were also eliminated. The moderators of r/gundeals have created a new subreddit r/GunDealsAnnouncements.

The moderators comments are here: https://www.reddit.com/r/GunDealsAn...64f92/03212018_reddit_updated_content_policy/

I expect this new subreddit will also be shipped off to the gulags. Then they'll come for r/ar15, then r/firearms, etc.

Conservatives and libertarians are not welcome on these Marxist dominated platforms, and we are there at their mercy. This is not a viable long-term solution. I'd urge people to make use of the some of the alternative sites mentioned earlier in this thread; if we want alternatives, we have to help them grow.

And thanks to CFF owners - this is one site I don't worry about!

Thanks, I was not aware of bitchute. I'm checking them out.

Isn't it peer to peer powered by bitTorrent?

Bitchute will work in a browser - no need to download any special app. I don't know how much data gets stored on a particular user's computer though; haven't bothered looking into it. If you do, pls report back with your findings.

SPLC sent me this big / fat newspaper looking thing today. I was so shocked I actually sat down to read the thing...

It's almost thread-worthy in its own right it was so pathetic.

Anyone have a good approach for saving YouTube content that we expect to be vaporized?

I was going to suggest KeepVid, but looks like Youtube issued them a warning.

If you think the content will be gulag'ed at some point, contact the creator and suggest they upload the content to Bitchute or Gab/tv.

There are many media downloaders you can get for free add-ons with Firefox, chose one and go with it.
I wouldnt do a youtube-specific, as that will limit you.

Im currently running Video DownloadHelper

Patreon is probably the reason YouTube is going as far as deleting content, rather than just demonetizing content creators they want to punish. Demonetization was their first tool to push people around. Now that Patreon provides a way for the consumers to support content creators directly it has pulled the teeth from YouTube's demonetizing policies and they need something stronger.

FYI, I discovered that Bitchute videos run MUCH better on IE than Chrome. Maybe someone who has Firefox could see if that also runs Bitchute videos better than Chrome?

You can watch all the adult content on Youtube once you sign in but hey don't want us to watch reloading videos.

What sort of adult content is on there? Ive never seen anything that was pornographic etc
Users post explicit video but to not mark them as public so the filters don't flag these videos.
The actual video is hosted off site of youtube but they get ad revenue by doing this.

I was just being funny that they want to pull the videos.

I'm doing the fox afire, and bitchute runs pretty well, from what I've seen. Can't say how it compares to googlechrome, though, as I don't use that.

Sounds like it runs much better than Chrome; with Chrome, some videos take a long time to buffer (>30s) and some won't play at all. With IE, the videos start playing very quickly.

It is probably worth pointing out that Chrome is owned by the same company that owns Youtube, so it might be in their best interest to give Chrome users a poor experience with Bitchute - i.e., user tries Bitchute because he/she has seen it mentioned in a few places, has a crappy experience, and goes right back to Youtube.

Has anyone read/seen how much revenue people make by posting on GAB?
I signed up today after seeing the above post.
I'm not interested in BitChute at this point, I browsed a bit and saw nothing that interested me/what I want to associate with

Is that anything like the code that was in Windows: if (default_browser /= I.E.) then run_slow)?

TY. Jeff Berwick of Dollar Vigilante just got chased off FB. He mentions Bitchute as an open source alternative.
