The night we met, I was wearing this.

The next time she saw me was for for a Halloween party.

She didn't see me dressed somewhat normally until the 3rd time she saw me.
That was also when she told me that the only reason said yes when I asked her to dance was because she thought all my friends saw me walk across the nearly empty hall to ask her to dance. She didn't want me to be embarrassed.
Best sympathy dance EVAH!
This was back in October of 1989.

Jesus, now there's something wrong with your wife too?

You know, between all these family members there is one common denominator...you.

;)

What was the first picture for, like, why were you dressed up?

IEEE student chapter held a Hawaiian Luau themed dance. My classmates talked me into going. This was my senior year. I never gone to any activities on campus. I was older than my peer classmates and SOBER.
I borrowed that outfit entirely from my step-father. Specifically chosen for maximum clash, right down to the argyle socks and yellow canvas boat shoes.
One of my classmates was a mildly upset when I showed up looking like that. There was a prize of 2 Bruins tickets for the most outrageous outfit. I won.
My wife, on the other hand, only recalled that is in the ballroom. She came dressed from a modeling class in a blue silk dress and 4 inch heels. She was taller than me that night. :D

Also, that pose, me and some guys wer just talking about that awkward prom picture pose on Saturday...at prom.

And I missed the part about the commencement ball being Black Tie.

Ya' know, there are some who might not like what I'm about to say, but I just don't think that's natural. There's no reason you should subject that gorgeous girl to that pseudo-mullet. I hope you've updated it since that picture...

I'm with HMP on this one, you married up. No disrespect intended, but if you hadn't asked her to dance, I would have!

This was 1990.
After marriage crew cut it nearly crew cut became the standard for me. Maintenance free.
No offense taken. I'm still shocked that she said yes. [emoji41][emoji1]

Northeastern in Boston.
It was the only college I applied to.
My answer to the question about why I wanted to go to MY was one sentence. "Because my father went there and my sister went there." I played the legacy card. Ha!
Back then it was affordable. Now is it over $60k a year tuition room and board.

It is clear that she lost a pretty major bet.. My best guess is that mine did too.
Here's the real kicker.
If not for a classmate being drunk that night I might never have seen her again.
One guy, who is normally very quiet, was drunk of his ars. At the end of the night he grabs and and asks if I got her number. She was at the bottom of the stairs with her friend getting directions to the T. Drunk guy says "you've been dancing with her all night. Go get her number. Look, she is right down there waiting for you to ask for it."
So I went down, asked for her number. Her friend nudged her and told her to do it.
Monday in class, the guys all turn around and ask "did you call her yet?" Ha! I did call her. Our first date was a Halloween party.

I remember that pic when you posted it years ago,,,you must have something in common with a horse. That's the only reason I can figure why she's with you.

Ha. A rare case of a beautiful woman actually liking being treated well.
She was modeling part time back then. I has a budding interest in photography, further spiked by a class at NU.
Had more than a few guys at runway fashion shows call me a liar when I said she was my girlfriend as she came down the runway.

The ultimate lesson I learned is this.
Life is what happens while we are making other plans.
When i look back on the sequence of events that led to meeting my wife that night, it is astounding the when i realize that if just one if a hundred small things didn't happen, my path would have changed and I would not have met her.
Life really is more like "The Adjustment Bureau" than we realize.
