They’ve redone Hawaii Five-O ... and not too bad. Now they are doing Magnum PI ...I’m not to sure because of Selleck and Hillerman are just much Magnum and Higgins in my mind but I actually am looking forward to seeing what new twists they’ve put on it. A female Higgins will be fun to see.

They kept the theme song so I will assume they made some other decent choices.

You know you might have a point ... there’s gonna be some protests about male privilege and masochistic casting from the whine and cheese groups.

Yeah, the lead is barely even brown... Latino-light... Not nearly PC enough... Looks even worse than HI-5-0 though so I don't care...

God network TV is in the crapper... Wish kids would watch network TV so they'd make something watchable. Average TV viewer age is like 60 now... That's why all these shows are being remade...

I'll watch this as long as it's able to be watched by a 10 year old as well. To me that's the worst part of tv now. There are maybe 5 tv shows that a family can sit down and watch that isn't on Disney or Nickelodeon and some of their shows are not appropriate.

I was living in Pearl Harbor when they were making the old one. One day I'm out at Ala Moana Park. That's where you see Gilligan's boat heading out the Ala Wai Canal on the 3-hour cruise. Across the canal is the hotel where the camera used to zoom in and there was McGarrett leaning over the balcony. Anyway, they were shooting a scene for Magnum. They were all there, Magnum, Selleck, TC, Rick, and even the helicopter. Higgins was either in character or he really is that way, leaning on his cane, and shorter than my mother. Rick's pretty short as well, I'm sure they had to be careful to hide it when he and Magnum were in the same shot. I spent a couple of hours there, it was a lot of fun watching. When it was on TV, that whole day's shooting made about 2-3 minutes on the show.

I'll watch it, looks like they are going a bit too far with the cgi, just like Mission Impossible movies, like a Bond movie^3.
Watched original along with Five-0, always thought the V for Vashon circa 1972 could have been a movie it was that good.

They may kidnap Higgins and offer her as a sacrifice to Pele.

I am going to give it a try. I watch and like the new MacGyver. It is over the top and stupid at moments, but it is entertainment.

Yep, but so was the original. The campiness is part of the appeal. The old MacGyver was better st explaining his genius inventions, though.

Absolutely, I still get a kick out of Jack and Riley though. It is entertainment, no less, no more. I hope Magnum PI is at least as good.

Hard pass. Most remakes suck. I loved the original, really liked the character LT. McReynolds. It's amazing how many for-real stars guest-starred on the show, and how many awards the show got. Ain't no way a reboot can come close.

He sure seems to get a lot of opportunities to pull a drifting 180's/360's and blow up cars/hummers with pistols.

But it's a .45acp so at least thats totally realistic.

Oddly enough I am watching an old episode of Magnum as I read this. I have not seen the show in years.
This remake could hardly be worse
