My dad is wanting to sell his Remmy 1100 or trade to get something more appropriate for my brothers who are up and coming shooters. It's hardly been used and after a good cleaning this weekend is up and running and cycling properly. What kind of trade value or sell value should he be looking at? Ideally he'd want a decent (maybe a Mossberg) 12-20ga pump and a .22 rifle but I'm not sure if he's reaching or not.

the old saying is, that something is worth what someone else is willing to pay.
Yeah, that's what I figured. I've heard anywhere from $450-650 retail but you know retail is hard to get some times. Just want to make sure I don't get screwed. I have no idea what the market for 1100s is

Plain barrel gun, plain looking wood, decent condition, maybe 400.00 realistically.....
no offense meant, but I would keep it if $400 was all I could get. I would offer it for $550 and take maybe $475, not a cent lower.

well, after looking on gunbroker, maybe $425 to $450 is indeed reasonable.

1st let me ask what gun he is looking to trade for or get? Is he looking at another shotgun? is it a plain or vent rib barrel? being a magnum with a 30 inch full choke barrel I see it under $500 and closer to the $400. mark

Ideally he'd like to have a sweet and simple Mossberg 500 AND something like a 10-22 Ruger (in a perfect world mind you). He'd probably be open to other offers too.
