Free SiCo suppressors

Auto correct... Coated lead. I pretty much only shoot blues in my 9mm stuff
Most people (and manufacturers) will tell you not to do it, whether bare lead or coated. For example, SiCo says right on the Omega 9/45K page:

*We do not recommend shooting lead projectiles out of any of our sealed suppressors.

Some people work up loads that cause zero issues.

With a serviceable silencer, it's obviously not as big of a deal. But with a sealed can (like the Omega 9K), you can end up with a decent lead build-up. If the whole can is stainless (or other acceptable materials), you could plugging one end and filling it up with the dip (all relevant safety disclaimers included) and remove the lead that way. The 9K lists SS & stellite...so I would think it's good to go.

  • Im too chicken to try anything with exposed lead in a sealed supressor. Some factory ammo isnt jacketed at the rear of the bullet, i stay away from it with a sealed can.

Is this SiCo trying to pump up sales/steer people their way?

They laid off a ton of people less than six months ago. I wonder how they’re doing.

My guess......either trying to boost sales and move some old stock......... Or a new product is about to be released, the freebie cans will be replaced with newer models. They might be due to replace/update the octanes and spectre.

I was thinking new products released and phasing out old models. I think they already have too many different types of cans. They'd do better to cover more calibers/applications with fewer products via a more modular solution.

Where is the low 800 Maxim deal?

Update: SilencerCo emailed me confirmation on my submissions for the two free cans.
They emailed me about mine, but said:

Greg.
Thank you for submitting your invoice. To qualify we will need a receipt that shows that the item was paid in full. If you will reply to this email with the needed document we can move forward with the process.

But I submitted an invoice the first time showing the total. I went back and found a different view that had a transaction ID, so I sent that. Haven't heard back.

Mine was a PDF of all 3 pages of the email confirmation from Cap Armory.

How long did that take ? I submitted mine but haven't heard back .

Oh good then I didnt miss the email. I thought it was fairly quick. Do you think it will take 4 months for these to hit our dealers?

No idea. We jumped in early, so I'm hoping the backlog was short at that time. I've bought directly from them before during a deal, and it took about half the time they said it might. Guess we'll see.

BTW...here's the doc I submitted that caused them to ask for proof I paid. Wasn't sure what you'd submitted. (No info redacted in the version I uploaded)

Hoping this one with the Transaction ID is enough.

Yea Greg on yours, there's isn't any indication that you actually paid. Like that is an invoice, but it doesn't show "Paid in full" and $0 balance or anything like that. Mine has a section at the top that shows credit card and "Processed Amount" that equals my total. I guess they are trying to avoid certain dealers submitting for the free cans on false invoices and then turning around to sell the cans? Or any other shenanigans.

I'm in the clear now...

Thank you for registering your Silencerco product. We will be entering your free Octane 45K shortly. Please allow up to four months for your free suppressor to ship.

Please feel free to contact us should you have any further questions.

I did ask and those of us that filed early shouldn't have to wait too long. He did say eventually they'd have to manufacture some of the free ones, and that'll add ~6 weeks to the wait.

And you won't get any further notification from SiCo once you get the email above. They'll ship it to your dealer with paperwork that shows who it's for. It'll be up to your local dealer to notify you they have it so the F4 process can begin.

Considering I bought mine and registered them the day the promotion began, I am hoping mine are on the UPS truck tomorrow!

BTW...

The $700/$800 amounts are cumulative totals...not single price requirements. Just had a big discussion about it on ARF.

Simply meaning if you bought three SiCo cans that totaled $1500, you could get a free Octane and a free Spectre even if none of your three cans were over $700. The online registration worked fine for me, but it's only good for the one-for-one type deal...where you bought one can over $700/$800 and are claiming one free one.

If you need to combine items, you evidently have to call them to handle it.

I still haven't received anything back from sico yet. I'm wondering if I should call.

This is good to know because Gun Pro Deals is running some CRAZY deals right now.

Octane 45 for $459 plus a free Warlock or Spectre with purchase.

EDIT: Literally as soon as I posted this they sent a new email with an update. The Octane 45 is now $434 but no free can. I think they must have gotten confused with the terms of the promo from SiCo. They do have the Octane 9 for $395 as well.

@TARHEELSTATE (more info after our conversation this morning)

Had a guy on ARF talk to SiCo, and then he posted this info:

To update:
Talked to silencerco on the phone today. They confirmed it's the total amount, and explained how to register multiple suppressors. He said the website isn't set up to do more than one registration at a time(obviously).

Basically, you register the first one and put your TOTAL invoice amount spent, in order to get the free suppressor to show up in the drop down menu. Pick your free suppressor. Upload receipt showing total amount spent.

Register the other/others on that same receipt using the same method but don't select a free suppressor unless you qualify for another on that invoice. I.e. 1500/1600 would get you two free suppressors which you would pick your next one on the second registration.

He said they will look at the receipt and be able to see what's going on.

Hope it helps.

Just called the 800 # and the message states due to the overwhelming success of the promotion delays in registration will happen. I tried calling to verify my mine was submitted but it bumped me to voicemail.

Are you more concerned with the purchase being registered? Or the free one being ordered?

If you go to the registration site, and put in nothing but the SN and hit submit...it'll give you a "Your serial number has already been registered!" message, along with a lot of "This field is required" notes and other errors. But at least you could confirm that SN was done.

Talked with Tarheel Firearms today. I reckon Ill take part in the suppressor game. Just not sure if I want the Saker or Omega yet. Very tough choice.
Omega all the way.

For anybody considering buying/selling one of the free cans:

The purchasers name, associated with the serialized suppressor, must match the name of the individual receiving the free suppressor(s) in order to validate warranty.

Not sure how they'll deal with it. I guess the two SNs are tied together in their system? And if you call in a warranty claim on the free one, they check to see who actually should be the owner?

I'm in, Big Bore Harvester in Jail. Scott was a super easy guy to work with and very informative. Thanks to everyone for posting the info!

Whatcha choosing for the freebie?

Octane 9, Im sure I will be happy with it. I have an Osprey, now I will have something I can choot lead or coated bullets through.

So I registered two cans separately but only have one email. Will they only send you one confirmation total, or should I try the form again after waiting for awhile?

Oh boy are they busy. Calls going almost straight to voicemail, and an email I sent out several days ago has so far not been acknowledged. Wouldnt bother me if their system would just recognize the serial number. With or without dashes, and all that jazz.

I'm in the same boat..... I went back for a second but only have one email reply. I emailed them but haven't heard anything back.

They are probably fine, and all will be well. I am just having semi flashbacks from long ago with AAC's tattoo promotion.

Wonder when we'll find out how many suppressors and Maxim's they moved and how many freebies they gave away. Also wonder if we'll have to wait until shot in 6 months to see their new product line...

Looks like SiCO is catching up. Please see below email from them.

Subject: Checking status of registrations

Hello,
I purchased 3 suppressors during the promotion period. I haven't received any type of confirmation that the paperwork was received. Could you check to make sure I am good to go? I did try to register them again and it says the serials are registered so I think that means I'm good but I wanted to double check.
Thanks,
