After years of looking, waiting, watching, wanting, and hoping.......
my wife and I signed the purchase documents on 10.83 acres in a semi-rural part of Cabarrus county.
The old country road is still the same width it was when it was gravel, but it's in good shape.
It's close enough to town but far enough out (even though it will add some time to my commute) we can drive for miles on back roads and never see a stoplight.
It backs up to a nice wide creek (running dry now) and has good deer sign. Plenty of hickory trees.
And best of all, it's zoned AO (ag/other) and I can pretty damn well do what I please as far as firearms goes (safely) and just about everything else.
I also realize this is going to be a steep learning curve since I am going to do most of the land clearing myself.
