Unfortunate story store clerk jumped by three thugs, stabbed one in the leg to defend himself,
CT law requires you to leave the area before using deadly force.

I hope some group helps take this to the Supreme Court in CT and to SCOTUS if necessary.

Updated: another story reports the victim left the store to chase and then stab one of the three.

There's already a thread about this in the basement, probably because it's a hot button topic, but I can see where this could be in the open forums too.

I've seen articles that made it sound like the fight "spilled over" into the parking lot before the stabbing, then others that say he pursued and stabbed.

Another article quoted the Judge believing the clerk but his hands were tied as he had to follow the law.
In other words, appeal it.
Stab to the leg vs multiple chest stabs would be deadly force.

Of course, you can just about always buy your way out in our current legal system.
My brother was imprisoned for defending himself when attacked by 8-10 Greek frat boys, he broke loose,, they found and attacked him a second time, their point man received a 1" cut below the belly button with a 3"folder. He was dead within 20 minutes. The DA tried murder 1, the judge chastised him and said, "I can't believe he died from that small puncture." The lawyer bleed my parents of over $150 and still couldn't get the job done.
