Part venting, part FYI.

They have been after my position for nearly a year and I found out yesterday that Friday is my last day doing the warehouse I've been doing for 9.5 of my 10 years with the company. On the one hand, kind of pisses me off to be bumped out being the 2nd senior position at my terminal. Which is where some of my lack of company loyalty as of late comes from. The flip side is, I was going to get out of that warehouse next time I could and I'm getting one of the two warehouses I was planning on taking. I'm getting too old to work this hard and tired of having this hanging over my head. So the reality is, it just sped up the process.

Good news, I have a job. Same job, different scenery. Less physical work, more driving.

Down side, 10-12 hours a day. Variable schedule this time of year. This will cut into my holster time. I used to go in about 6pm and pull 6-8 hours to finish. Now I need to go in 4 hours before the main dispatch to do the first run. And dispatch varies. So I'm loosing my afternoons to work on stuff. At least I'm getting a good jump in pay for my trouble.

Not dropping the holsters right now, hope not to as I go ahead. At least not what I do here. Might have to make some changes with Etsy and eBay though. And it will take longer to respond here so be patient. And for you guys that like to drop by with crazy guns/requests; it just got harder to plan those too. And maybe longer to get orders out. Time will tell.

I'm taking a few days off next week. Kids will be in summer camp so I'll have a few days with just me and my wife. WOOHOOO!!!! Then next Wed my schedule gets turned upside down starting the new warehouse, and Sunday I pick up the extra run and the warehouse. It will be nuts until I get into a routine. For those of you guys that have holsters on order, I'm trying to get them started before things go too sideways.

Since this was something you were planning behind the scenes anyway it sounds like it just got moved forward a little. May be a good thing, I don't know. You know the quality of my leather work so you know I can't help unless you want to flush your reputation down the drain, and I doubt that's the case, so I'll keep my craftsmanship to my self.
I don't know what it would or could be but if I can help in any way all you need do is dial those 10 magic numbers and I'll come a runnin'....... That's what Bud's are for ain't it????

Thanks. I’m just hoping it slows down so we can get out and shoot some clays. I was keeping my plans close to the vest. And this did just speed it up. Younger me might have gotten mad about it, or if I didn’t see it coming. Older me has more bills and needs a job. And older me has been looking but can’t walk away from seniority, top pay, and 4 weeks off. The job sucks. But a sucky job for $10+ an hour less is way worse.

We're on to the next generation now. One of my boys carries a G19 in one of your all leather pancakes I gave him. And an all leather pancake you made for me a couple years ago will have a Dan Wesson riding in it next week.

Hang in there it will all work out for you and yours.

Put the kids to work, about time they learned what the world is all about :(

I have at times. It's been hit or miss. lol Luckily the wife pitches in with shipping them most of the time.

That would be me. No not really and you know it's a great idea and you're just itching to get started.
Hey at least it's not a Silencerco Maxim 9.
(I'm sure it's a fine machine but that's the most condom-sounding name for a gun I ever heard...ribbed for her pleasure.)

Besides, your job sucks and you know it. What you really wanna do is quit and make leather holsters for those of us who want one yesterday. Good grief...it's not like we're being unreasonable or anything.

Life is always going to throw curve balls. Best to take the good and see it as a positive. Good on you for looking at the bright side.

We're happy for you! Sounds like things will be crazy for a bit. but will be good for you and yours in the long run.

Good luck with the changes. Unfortunately it is the only constant in life. Pretty leather work is always worth the wait.

We've never met but that doesn't mean I can't give you a good luck message. I have always truly believed that "things happen for a reason". I'm sure that applies in your case as well.

Best of luck in the new gig, chief. Hopefully after you settle in, your schedule will settle down. Takes time to get into a new routine.

I need another Chief, but I can wait till you're better situated. Your rig for my Shield is my go-to.

Good luck in your new gig!

John

Best of luck going forward in these decisions and I know that you'll land squarely on your feet Jason. Your product quality and customer service speaks volumes for who you have become in the leather business. Carolina Firearms Forum members and many others have been very fortunate through the years to own your products along with participating with you in the development of custom and specialty items. All I have to do is look down at my side right now or take a few steps to my safe and night stand to appreciate your workmanship.

I look forward to reading and watching this next phase of upcoming success for you and your family. You deserve it sir.
