Did concealed carry cut down your drinkin'?

A little bit. Don't drink at all when I carry in public. When I am solo at the fire pit in the mountains I drink less. At home I'll drink some, but I am an endurance athlete so pretty mellow any way.

Yup and saving money when I go out. All is good!

I drink because I'm lonesome and I'm lonesome 'cause I drink.... mostly in the privacy of my own home. If I am going to go out and have a drink I leave the gun at home or locked in a box in the trunk.

Damn, you don't just carry the sawed off and set it on the bar like the rest of us?

I stopped many years ago but not because I was carrying- mainly. My employment depended on the clean driving record so it meshed right in when I started carrying.

But to clarify, I do all my drinking at home.

No. We are out at breweries 2 - 3 time a week, meeting and talking to friends and enjoying ourselves, the guns are at home. Life is too short to let paranoia interfere with enjoying life and friends, and a good craft beer.

Yea, yea, I know there are real threats and bad guys out there, but I'll be damn if I am going to be so damn paranoid about them that I don't do the things we really enjoy.

Yup, I may drink once per month and that’s either at home or for a work function.

Yes, but I rarely drank before. A couple of time a year I would visit a microbrewery for a burger and a couple strong ales, I tend not to do that any more.

No because I usually carry a frag grenade with me when I'm out drinking, never seen a law prohibiting grenades at a restaurant where they serve alcohol, but maybe there is, so sue me.
Seriously, I leave my edc at home if I am gonna drink at an eatery and always have the truck gun where it belongs anyway , I don't go to bars much anymore. More something to do with age really, just too old to put up with a bunch of drunk punks. Deer camp is different, no punks allowed there anyway.

Like a lot of ya'll it was easy for me. Never much of a drinker anyway.
I did develop a soft spot for rum runners livin in the Keys. But a lot of that was because they were cold.

One thing I did notice. My buddies all know about me & the guns. We'll be at someplace and one of them wants to buy the beers. I politely say no thanks...sweet tea.
"Wut? C'mon man...don't be that guy!"
Can't. Gun.
"Oh yeah right ok."
They leave me alone about the drinkin, are happy to have at least one guy around that's not buzzy, (bonus for having a gun and knowing how to use it) and I usually get the truck keys thrown to me when we leave. I'm the safe guy, with a gun. A rare find. They like it.

I'm much more comfortable taking beers on the atv riding the trails here and bouncing off the trees. That's just good American fun right there.

CC cut down on my drinking outside the house. Course if I am driving it don't matter how I'm dressed. My friends know if I say I'm not dressed for it when beer is offered I'm carrying.
CF
Rotator cuff surgery cut out cc as I don't have a left handed holster.

No but getting married did and I found out Monday I have a couple spots on my liver to go along with my diverticulitis so I'll probably quit altogether now even though I don't drink much.

Nope...

Hard to cut down from never having had a drink in your life. :D

But the streak has continued.
