People here I enjoy talking to as we all, most anyway, have common sense and rational judgement.

Her name is Luna. I name the dogs and wife names the cats. I typically name them after some historical event/person or one of my hobbies. I've been watching a lot of space YouTube videos (space shuttle, Saturn V/ Apollo mission) so we name her Luna. I stretched it after the Lunar space module.

- Anyway - This may be a little long

Monday, left to go to work and got about a mile from my house. Came around a semi blind curve with a white pit in the middle of the road. No in my younger years (I'm 30) when I was a young bas**** I would kept driving. I pulled in to a drive way, the dog walked to the other side of the road. Luckly the car behind me stay stop as she knew what I was doing.

I got over to her and let her smell me for a bit. She was cool and I was cool. I got her back across the road and by my car. Start looking her over, she had skin issues, not fixed and possible cuts My wife is a storage manager of a large pet store chain. I call her because she knows alot of rescues, etc. She tells me to bring her up there and we will figure out something to do with her. I take her back to our house and try to feed her/ give her water in the garage. She is drinking, so I run up in the attaic to get the kennel. She decides she is done with water and wants to go exploring. She walks to the neighbors, sees me and come right back to me.

Girls at the store fall in love with her. On the way she falls asleep. I get home and take a shower, it's noon by the point so I decided I'll work from home. Wife informs me state law is we have to report the dog to animal control as missing. Which I do. Polite lady answers and I give my 2 cents on the type of owner(s) of this dog and what I really think about them. She tells me someone called earlier about a pit missing. Well keep me up to date on the situation. In the mean time, wife takes her to a vet she works with to see if she is microchip..she is not.

I call the next day around 10am to get a update. She would call me later as the owner is there now. The director calls me and says the owner ask if anyone was interested in her and he didn't seem like he really didn't care about it. "well that's oblivious" I said. Director tells me he would call me Thrusday (2 days away) to give me final word.

Fast forward on Thrusday he calls and says that she was surrendered. I reply "well what time can we get her tomorrow?". Time was set and we got her. We are fostering her and have some interest but my parents may take her as shop dog for his new location. Regardless she will live like a Queen.

She is microchip and has her rabies shot. Getting her fixed this week.

In short I don't understand how POS people do this to animals. Really makes me want to just curb stomp them.

Just to night on the way to get food I saw a guy parked (rough looking guy) who had a pit tied to a tree in the back of the parking lot. As we pull by him I tell the wife to stop and say "Hey man, beautiful dog! Are you trying to get rid of her" "Thanks man, Naw man just straight chillin", he said. I said " Cool..alot of people sit out back like this trying to get rid of the animals or sell them. If she wa for sale I'll give you $300 for her" Really just seeing if he was being serious about not wanting to get rid of her "Naw man, she's my best friend" "Glad to hear it. she's beautiful, have a good night"

At my wife's work when she was about to leave to take her to Animal control...almost like she knew. I image she did.

Dude ... if you aren’t aware of it yet ... you got THREE dogs now!
Ha, we have 4- the last addition is a purebred MinPin who was probably abandoned because she's diabetic, has a heart murmur and since we took her in has become blind. But at approximately 7 years old we figure she doesn't have that long and we're loving her as much as possible. She even sleeps with me and the Mrs.
I mostly despise humans, except for a select few.

Good on you for making sure she’s cared for. We rescued a pit right before Christmas 2016. She’s been a great dog, and is really good with my stepson. This is a pic of here seeming to smile on the way home that day. BC264A36-27BD-4BEC-B00E-AA2ACFEEB526.jpeg

I'm not much of a dog-person, you bravo-zulu to you amigo. Definitely looks like a happy pup now! A little love goes a long way with animals

I love a good rescue story!! Good on you, Dustin!!

Good looking bunch you got. Here’s our 4. 3 of them are rescues. And Ivan is our Pit Bull. Named him after Ivan the Terrible, of course! He gets a little rambunctious, but he is a sweetheart!

Beautiful gang!

I slept on the couch so she could sleep in bed with the wife. I sleep better on the couch when my back is hurting. She slept for 12 hours! Hahaaa

Love you guys for doing this - Dogs are the best friends you can have ! I have rescued over 30 in my life -they all came to me in need of a good home just like this one came to you

She looks like a sweety. Thank you for saving her.

@Djstorm100, you are a people that I like. The facial expressions in the pictures of Luna tell the whole story. Good for you and your wife for making a difference in this dog's life.

I love pit bulls. They are way too sweet to be mistreated.

Yes they are! Great dogs with a high drive to please their alpha

Sharp crew, do you have to contend with dog aggressiveness?

Now? no. When we brought Sherman home he and Remmy had to learn one another boundaries. They didn't fight, just growled and bark at one another. However wife and I are near by. Remmy is jealous dog, just the way it is. To offset this when I go to Sheetz late at night or just me and him I'll take him with me or he'll sleep with me on the couch.

Thank you all for the kind words my friends.

You’re a good guy @Djstorm100 and I applaud you. Well done Sir!

Hmmmm, that pic of your wife and the pack on the couch does point to a new family member :)

Again ... YOU GOT THREE DOGS NOW!

So Luna is getting fixed Friday. She and Remmy are getting along. Remmy was the first so he had "first kid" mind set. She however does not take crap from him...boy I laugh my butt off when she puts him in his place. Sherman and Luna have make out session which can only be stop with peanut butter. But she is lazy and grumpy in the morning (like me). She was hit when she in her previous home. I lifted a book real fast to hit a fly and she freaked out, ran away in the corner.

So you still tryin’ to find her a home? :D ... you got 3 dogs ... the the Lord bless you for it!

NOPE! :D There ain't that much cash on this dirt ball!:D

We have some new neighbors down the street that have stuck a doberman and some kind of hound behind a 3 foot picket fence. There are a lot of small dogs being walked in this neighborhood. People need to wise up. The control you think you have over an animal is an illusion. These people are putting me in a position to potentially hurt a dog because they are idiots.
